Tungsten, (chemical symbol: W) is a chemical element. Like most other metals, it is a metallic-gray metal with metallic properties, which assists electricity in hopping borders made from air and rubber. Before being isolated, tungsten is shy, doing its best to stay hidden among other, more noticeable elements in the natural formations it is found in, although once it is found, it boldly begins showing its properties in earnest.

History[edit]

Originally, tungsten had the chemical symbol T, since our esteemed scientists are very bright and decided that the previous elements to start with a T should have Ti and Ta. However, they changed it to W (for Wolverine) after they found that it is better than pretty much any other element.

Chemical properties[edit]

Reddy Kilowatt thinks tungsten is "the bomb" and hopes this LED lighting craze will pass.

Tungsten is the densest, most durable, and hardest-to-melt element. These superlatives are unlikely ever to be surpassed, as many newly discovered elements have severe identity crises and turn into other elements at the drop of a hat, leaving their properties undiscoverable and impossible to be proven better. Lead, in particular, is fouled by this as every property it has is bested by tungsten.

Because tungsten is better than lead, lead's atomic symbol was changed from L (which was also, miraculously, not used by Li despite coming earlier in the periodic table) to Pb (standing for Piss Baby) since the scientists arguing it is better are all wusses who think they are cool for arguing the unpopular opinion in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Uses[edit]

Tungsten gives off a sickly yellow light, as this element is aways catching jaundice from sick photographers. They like tungsten, as it makes them feel superior to normal lighting situations.
