  1. The article on a shit pop boy-band seems incomplete, and has very little real content. Most of the humour seems to be adding random words in (terrorist, president and marijuana in the first sentence alone) and consists entirely of random "jokes".     Anything is OK as long as an article is of sufficiently high quality. The problem with story arcs is this: Humor is the highest value for an Uncyclopedian considering new edits to an article; and declining to apply an edit because SamTheAwesome wants Dolphin uprising to make sense when read alongside The Great Whale Invasion is a gigantic non-issue with which to burden any Uncyclopedian.   1. This article is short and not especially funny, and it also lives on Illogicopedia where it fits much better. I put it here about a year and a half ago back when I didn't have much of an idea what I was doing. (I didn't write it, though; I only translated it from the French.) I'd love to replace it with a much better version that Multiliteralist and I co-wrote on the fork, but I'm afraid he'd get angry if I did that since he hates this place and all.   • And on 17 July 2007 an IP made a single edit, which was to spam an ad for Slackware into the article in a new section titled 'usage'. It sticks out like a sore thumb if you read that far. Apparently nobody noticed (maybe nobody's ever read that far in the article), since the section is still there, still just as serious and non-funny as it was the day it was plopped into the article.     Eh hmmm.... I just re-read it, and I think I was wrong -- that section is 'way too over the top to be a serious ad for Slackware. Microsoft uses it internally, and the Debian project uses it for their servers -- yeah right. And out here in the real world, the shuttle uses used IBM software, and IBM has its own version of Unix. So, I guess the author of that section took me in, at least. (And I'm still undecided on whether the article is salvageable which is why I voted neither yay nor nay.)     With a fairly simple Python script and one edit every day or two, you should be able to replace, say, every 10th character in the old article with the corresponding character from the new version, and then, a day or two later, replace another slice of 10% of the article, and so forth, proceeding until the whole article is replaced over the course of a couple weeks. That way you're never replacing more than 10% of the text at a time, and there's never a need to take it to VFD. (Of course, anyone who tries to read it when you're about halfway through this process may have some heavy going, but whatever -- maybe you should stick a note on it to the effect that you're working it over while you're doing this, just to prevent, eu, you know, surprises...) Yet, it's humour, the one that shakes your principles and then mocks you, pointing a finger in your face. That wouldn't be enough to save it, but I feel like there's a lot more to the page than it seems at a first glance.   • I am more comfortable with "intolerant" than "random." If a bigot wants to write a truly entertaining article, fine. This one starts out with a fanboy intro, a big long list where none of the items are developed but most are simple slaps expected to be funny on their own; and ends with a gigantic UnScript of hilarious bickering between opposing caricatures playing out in some Uncyclopedian's mind. Tie that in with the (real) origin of chess somewhere sometime in India, and with the invasion of India by some (presumed) white tribe or other at the end of the Bronze Age and there might be a hook to hang something on. Maybe throw in some obscure references to the caste system as India's apartheid, and voila, an article with jokes that only an anthropologist would get. Oh, well, whatever....     FA status doesn't amount to much anyway. It goes in a big category, the end. As for the article, fads are nothing like historical events or objects. Nudge nudge humor about an ancient joke isn't funny with nothing to back it up.   1. The main page for this game, Game:LRPG5, was deleted in 2012 as an abandoned WIP, leaving us with a headless pile of subpages. Many of them also contain redlinks to subpages that will never be created, as the author is no longer with us.     The requirements of VFD are satisfied if you specify exactly what is to be deleted; tagging the main page would give the required notice to the author(s). Only, you can't, so please leave a note on User talk:Da man360. That "author is no longer with us" is not a factor; it applies to most of our articles, and is not a basis for VFD'ing them.
