Forum:So, do you hate any of your own features?
Title bassically explains my question. I'm just curious as to how others view their own work. I'm going to go ahead and presume that people are proud (maybe not overly but at least a little bit) of their work that gets featured. But have you ever written an article you're completely apathetic about, or actively dislike, but everyone else seemed to love?
Personally I have only one feature that falls into this category and that's Snow White (yes I'm still going to link to it) and yet it got three really positive reviews and did as well on VFH as Why?:Am I a Power Ranger? (which I am immensely proud of). So yeah, anyone have anything interesting to say on this topic? Feel free to throw things at me now. Orian57 Talk 22:22 30 September 2009
- Retrospectively, my article on David Lynch pretty much sucks, yet made it to feature. Conversely, I am really proud of this and this, yet no one seems to like them. On a side note, I've always thought it was odd how things like this happened--authors hating work that's been univerally praised. Apparently, Thomas Pynchon hates The Crying of Lot 49 and Ingmar Bergman was basically indifferent though generally favorable to The Seventh Seal, which is surprising because both are fucking awesome. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 01:58, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

I've never been that fond of my nose, but I think hate's a little strong. --UU - natter 11:20, Oct 1
No not really. None of my articles got featured. I am not proud of any of them, nor do I dislike any of them. I feel that any article can be saved and improved upon if done the right way. I am constantly editing them in the hopes of a VFH and not a VFD. I am trying to learn how to write better so that I can write my own books and help myself get off disability. Due to my mental illness I am socially inept and other sites about writing I get hammered on for having a low social status. Usually to the point that I am told to kill myself or run off the forum or whatever. That doesn't happen here because Uncyclopedia is a different environment. I am tolerated here, but my works never reach the VFH level because I guess I am a struggling writer who hasn't perfected his writing yet. --Lt. Sir Orion Blastar (talk) 20:45, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

I tend to go through a phase with all my features where I hate them, normally about a month or so after they are featured. Having focussed on making them good for so long, when they're finished I start to only see the bad. Rafael Nadal went through a particularly long period of loathing and at the moment it's Disorganised crime's turn. The phase passes though. And it still doesn't stop me voting for them in top three of the month. I don't particularly hate my aristocrats article, but it frustrates me, because if it wasn't such a pain in the arse to edit, I'd make a lot of improvements to it. I also sort of resent the fact that this short gimmicky imperfect thing is my most successful vote-winning article, when I've written much better stuff with less eye-catching titles. -- 15Mickey20 (talk to Mickey) 21:18, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
I love all of my articles like my children. Fussy sometimes. Disobedient, maybe, but I still love them. The closest one I come to "hating" is Cyanide. I can think of about 5 of my unfeatured articles that I think are better (including my version of Peyton Manning, before it was redone as essentially the same joke only much better written and featured as a rewrite).--<<>> 15:22, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
Thou is my only article that got in the top three, and it is by far my worst feature. <whore> Some of my other, non-featured, stuff is much better. </whore> Who wants pie? Woody On Fire! Talking Woody Stalking Woody 22:05, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Personally
I think UnNews:Presidential candidates devote all remaining funds to one voter is pretty much shit. I mean, it was a pity political observation that many people had had before - including one who wrote an entire fucking Kevin Costner movie about it. Yeah. I think that article went to feature because it was well-timed and because it was hard to find anyone writing about the election who wasn't being a partisan dick. Not because it was funny or good.
