Forum:Are inside jokes bad?
I think that Uncyclopedia injokes are just pointless and really getting old. For one, I don't even understand most of the injokes, and the ones I do aren't funny. I think it's about time they go.
Examples
Fisher Price
The Fisher Price article's entire contents:
"go eat shit fuckers"
Really, how is that funny? It has nothing to do with Fisher Price at all, it's just an insult. Pointless garbage.
And the guy from the IP that wrote it, 4.252.99.182... who cares? He wrote four stupid words that weren't funny and intended to be vandalism, yet they dedicate an entire page to him...
Euroipods
How about Euroipods? It's one big fake advertisement that has been overdone everywhere else on a ton of websites. I personally found stuff like this funny a year ago, but now it's just old. Again, pointless trash.
Spinoffs
Oftentimes these retarded injokes spawn more retarded injokes, which just beats around a dead horse (usually beating a dead horse with another dead horse). Beating a dead horse isn't funny, either, especially when beating something that wasn't funny to begin with.
Why, sir, do you wish to hurt me?
Now, I love Uncyclopedia, but I find jokes that are only understood by a select few people stupid and something that belongs elsewhere, since they're not funny to most people. All the unfunny injokes just bring down the quality of Uncyclopedia.

Fisher Price is funny because of the retrospective literary analysis, especially if you remember those bullshit English classes that try to pass off that sort of bunk as serious inquiry. Euroipods happened before my time, and I can officially say that it may have been funny once, but I doubt that anyone finds it on their own without wading through eighteen miles of sludge leftover from a flamewar that I never want to understand. It's been digested, and what is digested is otherwise known as crap. BENSON is a forum joke, and therefore ineligible for status as a ruiner of Uncyclopedia ("ruiners" only count if they're in another namespace.) Kitten huffing, as a concept, is hilarious, but it is often inserted into articles where it really doesn't add to the comedic value. Articles that "hinge" on popular articles like these aren't funny, but the in-jokes themselves are usually funny on their own (and thus not really "in-jokes"). --The Acceptable Cainad (Fnord) 01:48, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

“Inside jokes are jokes that can only be understood by people from a particular group, or otherwise already in the know about them.”
I think in-jokes are a big part of our culture, to be honest. It's difficult to have much of a culture when you're a website, but all these in-jokes are a shared experience that brings us closer together in a great big fuzzy bundle of love. But since Nobody Cares, I shall shut up now. -- Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 21:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

FOR EVERYONE WHO THINKS FADS AND MEMES ARE BAD
Remember, we're a HUMOR site. And we're a COMMUNITY. There's no such thing as a community that doesn't have its own fads, memes, and inside jokes to throw around. The fact that we have them is totally natural, so don't discourage them unless they're overdone (and to be honest that's mostly crap like Chuck Norris Facts, O RLY, and other external memes). Stuff like Fisher Price, Euroipods, and Grues are stuff we made up ourselves, so we should embrace them. --Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 19:09, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

At Least We Don't Have...
Yo Momma jokes. Umm... I mean, at least we don't have Worst 100 lists. I meant to say, at least we don't make Chuck Norris jokes. Damn! I mean, at least we don't have our own dety. We don't have quotes claiming to be created by a crappy poet at the top of every page. At least we don't have pages about different encryption codes or whatever they are. Well, we don't make Steve Ballmer references. Well, we don't make jokes about HowTo:Hyperlink every single word in your article. Well.. FUCK YOU THEN! Just leave if you don't like it.
It took me forever to type all of that.
