Nothing in the article resembles anything done by either of the actual falcos (the pop singer and the character in star fox). - With the wisdom of Solomon I say, "Kill 7up but keep 7-Up." There, now no one is happy, moo ha-ha! Modusoperandi 02:01, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the current article is crap, but the title itself has a lot of potential. Something blending together 7-Up the drink, 1-Up and 7-Zip. - User:Guest/sig 18:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- I challenge Mhaille's claim of subtlety:
- The article is titled "7-Up", and the reason for this is likely the starring of Brian Blessed in movie "Seven Swords of Wayland" as King Oswine. You may ask: what does King Oswine has to do with King Lear? The answer is "nothing". The whole article was pretty meant to be a joke on Brian Blessed's roles in both the said movie and King Lear in the first place, but for some freak reason, and as more content was added, the whole thing simply went off into a totally different direction.
- The "Film Overview" section was added to the article when Mhaille edited the article the third time. Note there is time difference of almost 1 day between the the first and the third version, with the second version lying right in between. Since both the 1st and the 2nd versions are what we usually consider "sub-stubs", it is obvious that Mhaille did not even have a plan for the article when he started it.
- Check this out. The Wickedpedia article outlines the the general plot of Shakespears' "King Lear". Mhaille had likely read it prior to his third edit. However, when he began expanding the article he decide to make King Lear a character starred by Bruce Willis instead of Brian Blessed. It was a flop, and by the time he finished his fourteenth edited there had already been at least 3 jokes mixing and matching in a highly incoherent manner - the Brian Blessed joke, the porn joke and King Lear joke. As a result, the article was doomed to be a piece of random humour - as you can see even today.
- (P.S. I am not here to discredit Mhaille as a person but simply trying to point out the 7-Up is nothing but a piece of random humour. Please don't take the whole thing the wrong way.) -- Colonel Swordman 15:38, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
If I may address each point.....
- The title has nothing to do with Brian Blessed, its a not very subtle Pron reference, indeed the only two reference throughout the article are Shakespeare and Porn Films (if you look at a lot of my "work" you'll see a similar pattern of fusing two often conflicting subjects).
- The fact that there is a day between edits does not mean that I did not have a plan for the article, rather that I was busy. A check of my edit history will show you that I added a couple of lines to a few other articles around the same time before returning to 7-Up. I am in a full time job, as well as running my own business, so sometimes, sadly, work has to take precidence.
- I did not need to read the Wikipedia version of the story as I was already well aware of the plot, the characters and the sources that Shakespeare drew upon. As I have already stated there is only the two themes within the article.
- Its worth noting that at the time of the article's "birth" Uncyclopedia was in a transitional phase, between lots of very "stubby" articles to full blown encyclopedic masterworks. I appreciate that humour is often a subjective issue, but feel this article already has more than adequate foundations to grow into something very worthwhile. I refute the idea that it is random, as I have stated there are only two themes. Also, Colonel, (if indeed you are a Colonel) I won't take anything the wrong way. -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)

- All right, this is my fault for tagging this Rewrite instead of NRV. The reason I tagged it rewrite is because there is a famous Matt Hopkins--a 16th century witch hunter, which is in itself a much richer subject for satire. I say we smash it flat, and I'll start with the replacement. User:Hinoa4/sigVFD 08:50, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

- All of the letters may be bad, but the ones that I'm nominating are some of the worst. Maybe we should change {{alphabet}} so that it will only be for categorizing letters and it won't have any red links that encourage users to create articles that may be terrible. --Sbluen 22:12, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- sound reasoning. a red link in a list of links is very inviting but there's not a lot you can write about a single letter, and the ones written have had no effort put in. i'd be happy for the letter articles to be stubs or even one-liners, provided they were funny. - Jack Mort | TALK | MUN | F@H - 22:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
