I found this through random page... been around since September 2005 and doesn't seem to be expanding, which may be a good thing. Template:SRV
This template was made by an anon ip who apparently feels that instead of nrv tagging things, we admins should fix up all 200 one-liner articles that get created per day, freeing up more time for him/her to start more articles s/he can't be bothered to finish. While the poster has a right to say this, I don't want yet another template floating out there with no real need. We already have {{noQVFD}}
for pages that should be given full time for an author to come back and care. ---Rev. Isra (talk) 04:27, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Useless. That's what {{fix}}, {{rewrite}}, {{expand}} etc. are for. --• Spang • ☃ • talk • 04:35, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Keep. This template could be useful. But, the user needs to ask permission before creating a template.--User:Jtaylor1/sig 05:03, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Huff Already too many templates that do the same thing.
- Neutral I created this template and I'm fine with either keeping it or deleting it. I did not know that permission to create a template was required, otherwise I wouldn't have done it. But I think this conversation that the SRV template has brought about has raised a significant issue, which is this: is NRV just for short things? Or is it a content issue? Because, if "one liner"-ism is the problem, a tag that says "no redeeming value" doesn't seem to relate to the length, that is a content tag. If tagging a page with NRV just because it's short is the point, really some different template would be more useful than NRV.
And if NRV is used because the page is stupid in the opinion of the tagger, I'm not convinced of the value of a template whose purpose is to permit any user, without any vote for consensus, to tag a page as "stupid," which is what "no redeeming value" seems to imply. If everybody did this, I doubt any page here would be untagged, since at least one person in the world would probably find at least one of the pages here "stupid." IMHO, if page length is the issue, we need a "this article is too short" tag, not a "no redeeming value" tag. Or, if someone wants to tag something "no redeeming value," which is a content tag, they should have to get consensus first. User:RudolfRadna 15:51, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

ACS/SovietSquirrel, Acs
Allowed vanity (or I'd have NRVed them), but they're also drooling, incoherent, badly spelled and suck royally. Salt the earth. - David Gerard 19:08, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno. This is so dumb, and poorly written, I almost enjoy it for it's horrendous quality. Lord knows that if something is just bad enough, it can become an uncyclopediatric hit... I have to Abstain from voting for now. TD Complain here MUN (Insert Funny Quote Here) 20:03, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Delete ACS, Keep Soviet Squirrel. TD was right - Soviet Squirrel kind of lured me in with its earnest stupidity. ACS has got to go, though. — 2ND LT. Sir Edward, Grizzly of Wild KUN VFH FP (Oh my God! Grizzly Bear! Nooooo!) 13:12, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, I didn't notice there were two pages here... All 3 people named in the Acs page should be shot. Their user pages are frighteningly incoherent, and serve only to validate my inherent mistrust of strangers. Acs should be deleted. User:TD 19:26, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Pro-Test
- Deleteness!: Is this even funny? Am I living in Bizarro world? Or is this just too british-centric for an American like me? The article appears to have a point, but the humor is either too subtle for me, which is awfully gosh-darn impressive, or it sucks ass, which is awfully fuckin plausible. TD Complain here MUN (Insert Funny Quote Here) 22:02, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- FixI agree that its pretty strange and/or confusing, but it looks like there might be (might be, not is!) something there kindof funny. --Mrfrence 22:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

- Keep I agree it could do with some work, but in the context of the Pro-Test news story, which was pretty major in the UK, I reckon it's worthy of inclusion, and funny enough to be improved rather than deleted. KrJDub05 14:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

- Keep. Although not the funniest article, those with an appreciation of the issues (in real life there is one hell of a heated debate about the Oxford lab) and a decent satirical SoH will understand this and also find it genuinely entertaining. -- another guy, 25/03/06, 03:16 (UTC)
