Also, on replying to some of your comments Matt lobster, while I did do some vote whoring, a number of the whored users left messages on my talk page saying it was a funny article, It's not nearly as bad as you think--Sir Manforman CUN.png 21:45, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Whoring a little on IRC is fairly harmless, after all, it's just casually pointing out an article for someone's consideration. But going to 20 different users' talk pages and asking them all to vote for your article is over the top, a little unethical, and, as shown by komments above, it really gets on people's nerves. Perhaps, in future, a little less talk page whoring would be in order, m4m? --THE 23:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I didn't know there was much of a difference between talk page and IRC whoring (I'm rarely on IRC and never saw vote whoring for myself), and I saw user such as Ljlego and The UnIdiot successfully get there articles featured, (even if they weren't great), so I thought I'd give whoring a try and see if it helped me. I'll cut down on the talk page vote whoring, and if I hurted anyone, it wasn't intentioal, I was just trying to get another of my articles featured--Sir Manforman CUN.png 00:15, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Not many seem to have a problem with them because, quite frankly, they already have established reputations. Well, Ljlego has that. Hodgepodge got featured because it was tagging along at the end of a Eight-Features-In-A-Single-Week streak he had going on, and UnIdiot gets his whores to work because he has roughly 15,000 friends in the Massachussetts area that want to vote for him. You... you made everyone hate each other last month. Also, you said "hurted". Also also, I didn't find the article too funny. The line about collecting $200 is funny, and that's about it.
All in all, I'm against talk page whoring. Some people get away with it for the above reasons.     • Well, some articles only work as stubs. With HowTo:Get out of Jail, due to the nature of its subject, you had so much potential material to work with, yet much of it was left unrealized.
