I have an idea
So wikipedia has that thing on the top of their main page that says "In this English version, started in 2001, we are currently working on 1,013,074 articles." Unpedia should follow suit with something vaguely along the lines of "In this English <or illiterate, or sanskrit, or whatever> version, started in 10 A.C., we are currently working on 2,374,479,846,231,1164,894 articles." Note the 4 digits in the thousands section. Expensivehat 06:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
- We used to have that, but since wikipedia is planning on changing their front page, we have preemptively changed ours to meet their proposed new front page, which does not have such a section. If they decide to add one in later, we will do so also and claim that we did it first. --Sir gwax (talk) 17:07, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
So why was the main page changed?
I heard WP was changing their main page, but apparently they haven't yet. So shouldn't we stick with the main page that looks like WP's? I liked the old one so much better. --[[User:Nintendorulez|Nintendorulez | talk]] 12:38, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- So we can put up a news blurb, when they do switch: "Wikipedia, the official parody of Uncyclopedia admits that their front page sucks and changes it to look more like ours." --Splaka 01:46, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- How did you know they were gonna change to look like that?
- Our version is based on their current working draft. We will update our front page if they change their draft at all. --Sir gwax (talk) 21:10, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- Now theres no link to Sophia at the top of the page!

Colbert Reskinning
All the info on this serious issue is at this link.
IDEA ALERT: We should have an anti-Colbert reskinning, "attacking" him and such. That would put the issue right at the forefront. We get a lot of lurkers who just come to read and link stuff to their blogs, and they might not see the village dump. Who up for it???-- 00:42, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Ahem. Please see Talk:Euroipods. It just looks like you're trying to piss off 50% of us, and/or rub our face in the fact that the article wasn't speedy deleted, consensus was violated, etc, etc. While I like the 1-in-a-hundred rotating feature, I hardly think Euroipods is suitable for it, even ignoring the fact that I despise it. It's too much of an Uncyc injoke, and 1 out of every 100 newcomers to uncyc will probably look at it, scoff at the typos and suckiness, and probably mistake us for a bunch of talentless hacks and head to another site. If anything, it ought to be the. Not only was that democratically voted on with consensus, but the joke makes sense to anyone even if they've never been to Uncyc before. - Find an appropriate or unused langugae code (maybe Zo: or If:), create the page.
- Delete this section it's surpose to be a Surprise!
- Copy the source of the Main Page to this new code and work away on it, creating copies of any templates if used on the main page if you need too.
- Find an appropriate anniversay (when was zork released, started, brithday of the writters, etc.)
- (optional) create an appropriate logo
- Contact an admin and ask thme to make the change for the anniversay, I would but I'm on holiday until the new year from tomoz I suggest User:Rcmurphy or User:Splaka, as they have been involved in most of the recent reskinnings.
- BTW I like the Zork idea just annoying that I'll probably miss it grrr, note that I wouldn't be surprised to see christmas, Hanaka (sp?), Eid, or Beltane reskinnings soon so it maybe worth waiting to do this, I waited 3 months from the initial work on the Memory Alpha spoof to release it to the world!--The Right Honourable Maj Sir Elvis UmP KUN FIC MDA VFH Bur. Do not include the hitler image too often - it will annoy people. Uncyclopedia is already blocked on some library websites on grounds of being humorous (though the system in use is very peculiar - a site connected with the British and Foreign Bible Society is blocked on grounds of being an occult site!) - don't want other reasons.
- Well, the Featured images are on a random rotation, with the most recent one given the most time. And, we're not going to restrict content because some places block it. That would be silly, and against the idea of this website. Besides, what's wrong with a picture of Hitler? --PantsMacKenzie 13:28, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- It seems that Librarians are secretly Hitler lovers and cannot stand to see their hero made fun of in that way. I think the "I can't believe its not Hitler" and the "Chocolate Hitler" offends them. They put Uncyclopedia on their banned list. --Lt. Sir Orion Blastar (talk) 12:04, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)
*Some* people cause a fuss even when only minor offence is intended (g). Don't want the thought police to come and cause problems.
