  1. No. Listen, there are pages, and then there are pages. Main page is one of those. Other pages, people wrote. By people I mean people. Main page didn't get written by people. Well, the code did, but the people who wrote the code were rewarded with a complementary episode of STNG. Noms for other pages, the ones written by people, meanwhile, sit unread because this nom for main page is hogging their attention. By "their attention", I mean "my attention".   2. Strong Against On two counts. First count is the "Jesus Christ it's not 2005 anymore" count. Jesus Christ! It's not 2005 anymore! Novelty is not what we look for on the main page anymore. An article that contains nothing but a full stop can't be featured, International Page Blanking Day can't be featured, I don't see why the hell this is any different! Sure, this is an actual page with content, but the content of it isn't in itself content! We don't need anymore stupidity, we don't need to do this to garner a cheap laugh. We have plenty of genuinely funny pages that we can fill the next feature with. This is just retarded. The second count is related to the first. It goes something like "This is essentially like trying to feature The word parakeet written exactly two hundred and forty-two times." I don't know if this can be done, or if someone has tried to do this before, but would it not be hilarious to see on the main page "Today's featured article: Main Page." Someone would have to create a picture of the Main Page featuring the Main Page, but you all at Uncyclopedia seem intelligent enough to pull that off. Feel free to put me in my place if this is not as humorous as I thought it would be.CornStarch 08:56, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

  • To clarify, it's so deliciously uncyclopedic. Yeah, there's pages written by people who are desperate to have their articles on the front page, but to be honest, how often do we not have that? It isn't like there's a limited number of features, so when there's a chance to do something original that actually hasn't been done before, why not go for it?     Ya know, I thought about nominating a few of those pages you were talking about, but it just not as funny as featuring the main page. It is hard to explain why this would be so funny to feature, but I think the best way would be for someone to actually visualize what the main page would look like featuring itself. When I though this up, I totally had the cascading image effect in mind, it would be perfect and not hard to pull off. Just take a screen shot of the main page, and where the featured article should be, paste the screen shot. Rinse and Repeat. Sadly though, This idea has too much opposition, oh well.CornStarch 00:53, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
