April Fool's jokes are supposed to be on other people, not on us. Jesus. I can barely use the wiki now.

- Why does Wikia even allow this skin to exist? Seriously, that's a serious question. Does anyone use it? Do people googling Uncy ever see this skin? Even if it's a April Fools joke, it still exists, and shows us that wikia doesn't give, well, yeah. The entire right side of the page is set up for future ads. De-op Wikia. Aleister 1:20 1-4-'11

To the pitchforks!!!!! —
04:29, April 1, 2011 (UTC)Why is this still up?
Even though it seemed to someone like a good April Foolish joke, this has to be driving away viewers. People coming to read a page or edit their favorite article get hit with ugly and ads, and I'm wondering if losing readers is worth what someone thinks is funny. I see it as a slap in the face rather than a right hilarious April fools, and Kip and others had a conservapeida skin all set to go - that's what people were told would be the April Tool joke. Can someone who knows how change this thing back to whence it came, the bowels of wikia hell. Aleister 9:25 1-4-'11
- p.s. Why? says that Miley Spears left because of this wikia reskin, and I recall Happytimes was sad that his skin was lost to the wikia reskin and he left. Now we honor this as a joke? Please take this skin down.

What a mean joke
No, seriously. At first I didn't even understand it was an April trick. It is not a bit funny. When I saw the main page in Oasis, I suspected that Wikia had finally broken the will of Uncy's community and installed Oasis by force. —
. 13:23, April 1, 2011 (UTC)this new Wikia reskin is giving me Asthenopia! - LOL vandalz 14:20, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Hahahahaheeheehee huh? This isn't a joke because it's real, like calling a knife in the forehead an April's fool joke. The horror of this is that wikia, who flucking owns our writing, has put this skin on its wiki's. and could decide to use it here. With the entire right space reserved for ads. We as a site haven't insisted to wikia to always remember and honor the fact that we are a parody of wikipedia, and wikipedia does not have plans to reskin with ads and white space and ridiculous large numbers and gadgets shoved in the face of its readers and users. If anything good comes of this "joke" (hahahahahahaheeheeheeheeheeh huh?) it's to remind our admins and users that we have to insist on some promises from wikia, and the sooner the better. Aleister 15:57 1-4-'11 took me 11 minutes to maneuver around to sign in, as the log in button isn't working with this skin on my computer.
- You, sir, are an idiot. The reskin is the work of the admins, not Wikia. It was my idea, it got some community support, and Olipro put together the JS to make it happen. I thought it was hilarious at the time, and now I think it's even more hilarious. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 19:24 Apr 01, 2011
- Yeah but you're ideas suck. Also, if anybody really has a problem with it and can't contact an admin to exempt them from the horrid skin, they can always disable js. Anyone who visits 4chan should know all about that. MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 19:29, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

- Yes, I am an idiot, my reputation precedes me, but that's not the point here. I knew the admins put it up and not wikia. My idiocracy of concern was that this could well be a glimpse of the future, as wikia has created that skin and actually uses it, and it could be put on our site without notice. We should get some promises out of them now, and not when it's too late. Aleister 00:34 2-4-'11
- The skin has existed for a long time now, and we've been aware of it for just as long. It's understood that Wikia will keep the MonoBook skin for Uncyclopedia because that's what Wikipedia uses (or is close enough). The situation you're barging into loudly and obnoxiously has already been resolved ages ago. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 01:31 Apr 02, 2011
- I wasn't aware of an agreement, was this annnounced to the site? Remember a few months ago when the skin was put on the site? And I've counted four "calling of names in seriousness" now among your postings here and on Sannse's page. One or two or three, maybe brushed aside, but four is heading up into the WTF level. Aleister 1:52 2-4-'11
- I wasn't calling you any names on sannse's page, just telling you to shut up. She's sannse. She has to deal with idiot users who haven't bothered to look into forum archives on the matter (or privately ask older admins about it) all the time. There's always someone who crops up and decides Wikia is somehow a "threat" to Uncyclopedia and then goes around and bitches about it. It only serves to irritate our usually very patient Wikia users and makes older users' palms reunite with their foreheads at unsafe velocities.
- Moreover, I feel more than a bit responsible here because it was my idea to reskin the site. If it hadn't happened, you wouldn't have gone on this sudden and unprovoked anti-Wikia rampage. I like to think that our users are mature enough (hah) to handle a little thing like a joke now and again - what with this being a humour website and all - and your raging is rapidly disproving that. I, personally, am embarrassed by your actions. Your retarded, retarded actions.
- So seriously, dude. Take a chill pill. Wikia isn't out to get us. This has already been firmly established. They've put us on a separate system from the rest of their company just so we can have our own custom skin and enjoy an ad-free or relatively ad-free existence. And if they ever changed their minds, Uncyclopedia would very simply move. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 02:04 Apr 02, 2011
- What Skully said. Remember, we're not a Wikia project, they just host us. We can leave whenever we feel like it. -- Lollipop 02:10, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
- I just posted a note on Sannse's site which should lighten the effects of my other notes. None of this has ever been explained to people like me who are very concerned about the issue. An agreement such as the one you speak of is a big deal, a major agreement between uncy users and wikia, and I would think that we would have been made more aware of this (and I am not above missing things, so it may have been). I see you called me lots and lots of more names in your post above. Maybe the choice you made to use the skin as our April Fool joke wasn't the best thing to do by far, and you may be realizing it and taking it out me for focusing on how horrid that skin is. Name calling is down the list of how to deal with something like this. There is a new UnNews up about the choice of our April Fool's joke, an UnNews I had nothing to do with. You may have enjoyed some of the over-the-top reaction to the decision, but I think it harmed the site in ways which we may never know. Aleister 2:14 2-4-'11
- p.s. Lollipop, it's my understanding, and I may be wrong, that wikia owns uncy. Am I wrong in that too?
- Protip: if you're "very concerned" about an issue on Uncyc, chances are you really should not be. If for some reason you still are, however, spewing hatred everywhere in a 24-hour period isn't going to do anything but encourage Drama everywhere. And to the question of who owns Uncyc's content: are you even aware of the license in the lower-left corner? – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 02:22 Apr 02, 2011
- That makes little sense, if someone is concerned about an issue why shouldn't they be? Huh? And once again, name calling. The drama is your own creation, and I'm not going to play into it. Try the author of the new UnNews about the reskin, maybe he'll play. And no, I am not aware of the license in the lower-left hand corner, that real tiny thing down there? I'll look at it now. Aleister 2:29 2-4-'11
- In case you have either not read the Wikipedia article on us, or known the history behind us; Uncyclopedia was co-created by Chronarion, his sockpuppet Stillwaters, and a few other users (the most active of all of them is PantsMacKenzie, who i've seen a lot on IRC). Well, for some reason, Uncyclopedia was growing out of it's domain, and I think the payments were getting to Chronarion, so they moved it to a Wikia domain. Wikia hosts Uncyc, and that's it. If they owned us, we would not be able to have custom monobook backgrounds, no custom navigation bar, no nothing. So all of you, including Al, should say something nice to Wikia, because one day they can say,"We're sick and tired of this shit, you know what, Uncyclopedia, you're on your own!" And then Uncyc will fail to meet the demands and close. Understand? -- Lollipop 02:27, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, and I was talking to Al; there was an edit conflict. Lucky I copied it. -- Lollipop 02:28, April 2, 2011 (UTC)

- MediaWiki is the wiki software, foo'. Anyhow, to be more precise, Chronarion sold the Uncyclopedia domain to Wikia, nobody "owns" Uncyclopedia per se and we are hence free to fork off to our own servers - unfortunately, this isn't quite the same in practice because Wikia would have absolutely no intention of giving us the domain, and nobody has any legal claim to it take it, as a result, were we to fork, getting everyone, the traffic, etc etc, would be challenging to say the least... but I will also say, NOT impossible -- Prof. Olipro KUN (W)Anchor Op Bur. Thank God it's not Friday
We we we we so excited...that the reskin is gone. Kip, Al, and Lyrithya worked all day to make a great Conservepedia reskin, and I think we should use it some other time. I like Olipro's effort and I thank him for making there being an option in the coding to have a monobook option, but I liked the Conservepedia reskin because it's a corny wiki, being a Canadian I think that all Catholic American pyschopaths should stay in a box to themselves because I can't stand them. Although, Olipro almost saved us from being sued because the Conservepedians could of sued us.
Another thing that is making it's probable bow is any traces of the Maniac mcpee sig, which is being retired. -- KUN Go Crazy 00:22, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
- I was under the stupid impression that the page was going to be our page for April Fools. I don't they could sue, as it was a joke, satire, so that's no problem. And uncy should really be sued more often, that's for sure, to get the publicity. Aleister 00:31 2-4-'11
