Forum:Uncyclopedia is roughly 5.5 years old
To celebrate we should do a semi-official Top 55 Articles list. I've planned out a crazy system of votes and brackets to decide this, with the number 5 somehow involved every step of the way. Who's with me!
I'm with you!
- Yeah! -- 00:57, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Shouldn't "Who's with me!" have one of them question thingies at the end, instead of the loud thingy? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:10, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- For.. Because it sounds like something a five year old would do. It's Mrthejazz... a case not yet solved. 03:46, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

- Sheeeit.
- Shit yeah. I love voting!! Far more than I love doing actual work on the site.
- You can do both? I voted and wrote an article this past week. Unheard of!!!! -- 19:08, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Down with this sort of thing
- Hell no... -- Sir Mhaille (talk to me)
- Seriously though, that just sounds like far too much voting when we already have the top 10 of each year hanging about the place. --UU - natter 12:08, Aug 19
- I don't really seem the harm in not doing it. I'm doing all the bitch work so there's no need to worry about any of that, plus it just takes less than a minute to vote or nominate something, and this doesn't have the overly-serious heavy handed air of something like NotM or VFS, this is just a celebration and for fun. -- 17:39, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
There is only one good article
And here it is. --Roman Dog Bird 01:09, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

- Seems a good idea. How are the top 55 going to be measured? The ones that the most votes in or the ones that had the greatest number of positive votes in comparison to people voting against?? --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:52, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- I believe TKF is envisioning all the Top 3 articles of the month from the past few years will all compete, and we'll select the top 55 from those. From that, we would then vote five out, then have 25 head-to-head matches, followed by 5 brackets containing 5 articles each, and then the winners of each of those brackets would then be voted on as which will be the best. But it's clear that the only good articles on this site are Gay People, Euronintendo, and Mike Gravel, so why bother with this? MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 12:02, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds a bit complicated, but a start. Do you think voters will read all of them? And shouldn't the top 5 or so of the top 10 of each year be automatically in the 55? And when A wizard and Suddenly, Raccoons tie for the top spot, how can anyone ever hope to top them? And hey, noobies like me who never whored for a top three, left in the cold to freeze and look in a window and my favorite and maybe best just hanging in the wind? Oh well. Aleister 12:11 19 8
- The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 15:09, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Hmmm. That's one reason to change my vote on top there. The agin'ems are coming up with good arguments. Aleister 15:17 19 8

The way I've got it thought out is more thorough than just Top 3's, especially since those only go back to mid-2007. For starters, I was lying about the brackets thing. There'll be two parts of voting: the primary featured part, which is skimming the tops of all the existing Top votes (probably the Top 5+ per month when available and something equivalent for the earlier years, I'll think of something), and the wild card race, where each user can nominate any 5 articles they feel has been snubbed by the monthly/yearly/daily honors (no self-noms? maybe?). After the nominations time is over, every chosen article is compiled into a massive list and everyone gets fifty five votes, and each article they vote for can be stacked with a strength between 1 and 5. Got all that? Suggestions welcome. --
17:34, August 19, 2010 (UTC)- Yes. We need to discuss this a bunch more, complicate it up a bunch, argue, create both Drama and multiple forum topics, then forget about the whole thing. That's the Uncyclopedia Way. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 04:50, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- You have a point. Suggestions no longer welcome! -- 04:51, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
How About
We do the Top 5 of each of 5 different categories? Articles, Users, Drama Incidents, and Images. EugeneKay wuz here (whine thank) 08:16, Friday 20 August 2010 !
- That's six, not five. MegaPleb • Dexter111344 • Complain here 08:19, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah sure. It'll all be part of a big Roughly 5.5th Birthday Extravaganza! And to make it actually 5 categories, split Users into Writers and Workhorses. -- 09:05, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
Taking this the American Film Institute way
And spreading out the stuff over the course of a few months. Of course, by the end of it we will no longer be 5.5 years old, but a good extravaganza never ends, right?
Anyway, this is good because A) nothing will be rushed, and B) another gimmick with the number 5. What I'm thinking is we're gonna do all these things in this order:
- Top 5.5 Writers of the 5.5 Years
- Top 5.5 Workhorses (Uncyclopedian) of the 5.5 Years
- Top 5.5 Useless Gobshites of the 5.5 Years
- Top 5.5 Potatochoppers of the 5.5 Years
- Top 55 Articles of the 5.5 Years, which will be over 2 months with the first month being the "wild card" phase mentioned above
And start them on the 5's of the month, starting with September. Plus some preliminary stuff to get rid of extra articles from the top 55 nominations list.
Anyway, it's a real semi-unofficial extravaganza now! --
08:04, August 21, 2010 (UTC)- Could we not have top 5.5 images of the 5.5 years? —ASS WHORE Mr. Antonio Yettie (talk) [09:50 21 August 2010]
- If you can figure out how, then yes. --
- Maybe literally have half an image? That'd be quite cool. Or the image that comes sixth could be shown at half the size to the others (somehow), or simply listed as a runner up. So the 0.5 is essentially a 6th place? —ASS WHORE Mr. Antonio Yettie (talk) [18:34 21 August 2010]
- Essentially. Good idea! We'll do that for every category, too! --

By the way
Tompkins predicted this would happen. Also, he and Braydie predicted Squiggle will win. No offense to Squiggle, but I don't think he could take down a Bear. -- 05:43, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
