Forum:Give Charitwo rollback?
I have spoken with TKF, Mhaille, Codeine seperate times about the being given rollback so it would make my random visits here to revert the occasional vandalism and blanking a lot easier. Undo sucks and is entirely too slow for my tastes, especially when I have other places elsewhere on Wikia to jump to sometimes seconds later. These three have said they'd each talk with the other admins and see what they'd think, they themselves had no opposition, however I haven't heard neither follow-up nor gotten back to on the matter. I would prefer to be able to rollback edits than be a perpetual contender for UotM for all eternity. Chronarion suggested I make a forum topic seeing what everybody thought since there is no "policy" on rollback at all. It would be a nice alternative since I have no desire to be an admin here.

- Y'know how I do it? I use the Communist Javascript, right click on the rollback button and select 'Open in new tab'. You can revert an absolute shitload of vandalism in a few seconds like that. Feb 9, 10:21

- IMHO anyone who can't get this magic powers by himself installing the script, shows a lack of unexpertise and should not be entrusted with any other additonal tools.---Asteroid B612 (aka Rataube) - Ñ 13:56, 13 February 2008 (EST)

- Why not? What's wrong with it? It does exactly what you say you want to do. If you want to get the power to revert more easily that badly nothing is stoping you from geting it. If you don't want the script I see no reason why you should get the rollback.---Asteroid B612 (aka Rataube) - Ñ 17:06, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- So let me get this straight. You oppose the rollback because you think Charitwo is too lazy? I dunno about what goes on at Inciclopedia, but here, being lazy is almost a qualification for adminship. ;) Abstain anyway. —Hinoa talk.kun 23:49, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- They wouldn't give me rollback there either ironically, and I revert a lot of their vandalism/blanking too. I do, however, have rollback at Italian and French Uncyclopedias. --CharitwoTalk 05:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- That's becouse you often reverted the good versions back to the vandalized ones. Hinoa, it's not a matter of lazyness, striving to get the rollbacks in every wiki is taking him a much bigger effort than installing the script, it's becouse he's, as I see it, unwilling to show he is skilfull enough to get the tools. Honestly, it seems to me you trying to achieve some kind of record, "Hey, look at me, I'm the important guy who got the revert tools at all those wikis, (even when I dont actually have any need for it in most of them)". It's like collecting penuses. Of course, that's just my impression.---Asteroid B612 (aka Rataube) - Ñ 16:54, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

- I'd say my ratio is pretty good for a wiki of whom language I do not speak, this wiki is English though. So go somewhere else to collect your "penuses". --CharitwoTalk 20:24, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Pointing at my spelling/typing mistakes doesn't make your point anymore convincing. On the contrary, you are just being dickish, strenghtening my dick-gathering assumption. Instead, you could actualy answer my claim and explain what's so bad about getting the script.---Asteroid B612 (aka Rataube) - Ñ 21:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Because I pop in at Wikia's globally (not just uncyc's) and I know how Wikia servers are and loading a global rollback script on each one is very taxing, I'd prefer to use rollback provided by the software itself, which is a lot more friendly. --CharitwoTalk 21:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- There you go. That's sound like a reasonable explanation, you could have just started from there. I retrieve my opposition. However, for future cases I recommend not handing the tool to anyone. Why? It's just a lot less bureaucratic if we don't set any policy and we don't hold votes for each one who comes asking for the tool and we simply point them toward the script, easier, smoother. Most people who shouldn't have the tool would probably not be able to set up the scrpt, it works like a natural test.---Asteroid B612 (aka Rataube) - Ñ 16:34, 17 February 2008 (EST)

Actual Opposition To This?
Charitwo has explained his reasons for not wanting to use the script and can obviously do a better job of reverting the vandals with rollback. Does anyone actually have a serious reason why he should not get it? MrN Fork you! 01:58, Feb 15
