Oh hey[edit]
So no more of those crises ever again, hopefully. Delete VFD at will! --
23:59, January 1, 2012 (UTC)Ohhhhhh mygodomygodomyGOD![edit]
I'm just going to sit here and revel in this for 15 minutes or so, before I go about VFDing the rest of the site. YEAH! ~ Sun, Jun 3 '12 7:17 (UTC)
Protected?[edit]
Why is this page protected, please Unpr0t3ct it. --TotalCuddles02 (talk) 18:36, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Seeing how you just created your account, you will have to wait a couple of days (or how ever long it takes) before you can edit this page. Eventually, you will be listed as an autoconfirmed user, and you will get the right to edit certain protected pages. It keeps vandals and angry IP spammers away... ...or at least I think that's how it works... --Gamma 19:06, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
Apologies[edit]
Just had to put something on VFD as it was empty. —qzekrom.net16.net clicky! 22:30, October 18, 2012 (UTC)
Nominating featured articles for deletion[edit]
Is that possible? --Mimo&Maxus (Talk) 15:00, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
- Highly discouraged. For several Admins here, it is an automatic Keep vote. FAs also tend to attract fallen-away Uncyclopedians back to stuff the ballot. There is lots of other cruft that is a better use of your time. Spıke Ѧ 15:10 15-Feb-14
- I'm intrigued, which feature(s) did you want to nom? If SPIKE had his way he'd nom my whole batch, and laugh as they were picked off one by one. Aleister 16:35 15-2-14
Template:Wargame[edit]
This should all be deleted. Actually it should be QVFD —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheWikiMan026 (talk • contribs)
- I think this already went up for VFD not long ago. Check out the format of VFD, and if there are less than 20 entries on
VFD it can be added as long as it wasn't voted on less than a month ago. This is also the kind of thing that can be discussed in a forum when talking about deleting an entire category. Also, please, please, please sign your posts. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 22:13, May 26, 2014 (UTC)
Poopsmith rights[edit]
I think the Poopsmith should be able to close ballots that result in Keep. (Chatter) 17:32, June 25, 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for your opinion. However, the decision to wind up a ballot with one outcome is just as complicated as the decision to wind up a ballot with the other outcome, though not as hazardous to some noob's hours of editing. It would be nice if you would learn stuff, such as how to refer to a template without placing it into the page (above), before you tell us how the website should work. Spıke Ѧ 17:48 25-Jun-14
I may be absent the next few days due to errand work[edit]
So if it's not a problem, I'd like to reserve some votes in case I am absent during the day I can edit the page:
Here are the votes I'd like to reserve:
- Article: Phillips CDI Delete. I agree that this is unfunny
- Article: Svelvik Delete. Nobody would understand this
- Article: Preteens Delete. I mostly agree with ConCass2 and Steve, This is not an article about the stereotypical preteen, it's rather gruesome too. Rewriting it would be time consuming. I think it's best to just huff it
- Article: That Article Spike recently nominated Delete. Just...No. Please delete

Thank you and sorry if there's something not right about this. But please reserve them if you can
SilentSnowDrops (talk) 09:28, August 9, 2014 (UTC)
OR you could've used the time you edited the talk page to actually vote? ConCass2 (talk) 11:19, August 9, 2014 (UTC)- No wait, sorry, I just realised new editors can't immediately edit stuff like this so I checked your page. My bad. I don't know if you can reserve votes. I doubt it very much, but I don't know a lot about this site. ConCass2 (talk) 11:57, August 9, 2014 (UTC)
United States of Earth[edit]
I don't think I'm allowed to edit closed votes, but the number of votes is wrong. It says 3 when it should say 4. ConCass2 (talk) 14:58, August 9, 2014 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks. I would not mind if you fixed the score even in a closed vote, but any follow-on debate should be taken to a user talk page. Spıke Ѧ 15:12 9-Aug-14
Questions regarding votes[edit]
I have several questions on votes
1. Do the number of votes regardless of users matter or do the delete/keep votes of the admins matter more?
2. Is it true that an article must have a delete score of 6+? Even with a few keep votes?
3. How many days does it take for new users to edit a vote?
4. What if the vote is closed?
Just asking for future reference
BubblyBoyTK (talk) (is this how you sign posts?)
- VFD votes are closed when consensus is reached (or consensus is impossible). This is an Admin's decision. Currently, we define consensus as a net +5 or -5 vote, but this varies over time based on the level of participation. I take votes by Admins more seriously, also votes that correctly and precisely explain why an article's problem is inherent and not merely fixable. For example, I have deleted pages at +4 if three Admins voted to delete it and enough time has passed. Admins generally have a better idea of the website's history. I discount votes to delete an article on Bush that simply assert that Bush sucks.
- Now, this is definitely for future reference, as your contributions are not at risk of being deleted at the moment, because at the moment, you have no contributions. You are one of five new Uncyclopedians this week curiously eager to learn (and grab) the ropes while not writing any funny stuff. I am curious to know who sent youse. Spıke Ѧ 13:35 11-Aug-14
Got it. Well to be honest I'm not good at writing funny stuff, but I am good at coming up with ideas on how to make an article funnier. I can come up with suggestions. Well I don't know about these new users, but I guess maybe they are in the same boat as me? Or probably not. But thanks for the reply
By the way, Do you get banned if you submit an article that has survived or..? BubblyBoyTK (talk) 13:49, August 11, 2014 (UTC)
- You really have been fed facts somewhere else. No, you don't get banned for your opinion or your contribution; you get banned for disrupting the work of the website, including sometimes just persistently showing you don't care to work in concert with other Uncyclopedians. On inability to make an article funnier, browse How To Be Funny And Not Just Stupid and Choice of Words. If grammar is your problem, prostrate yourself before our Proofreading Service. The best place for suggestions on individual articles is to post to the page of the last Uncyclopedian (with a user name) who edited it, if it's recent. Spıke Ѧ 14:02 11-Aug-14
Resignation[edit]
I declare that on the 24th day of the 8th month of the 2014th year of our Lord I, TheWikiMan026 officialy Resign from my position as a Poopsmith (Chatter) 19:22, August 24, 2014 (UTC)
- How can you leave this glorious post without a special 1000-words resignation speech? Unacceptable! Anton (talk) 21:29, August 24, 2014 (UTC)
Redlinked deletion survivor categories[edit]
Recently I was going through Special:WantedCategories and clearing out some stuff, and I noticed a bunch of categories with names of the form Category:Deletion survivor/YYYY-MM. These seem to be related to the new (well, not really that new) VFD system. For example, Talk:Food is in the category Deletion survivor/2014-09. Should someone be creating these categories? If so, is this a task for poopsmiths, admins or just anyone? ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 21:34 13 September 2014
- Seeing no opposition after six days, I'm going to go ahead and create them. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 22:21 19 September 2014
- Do we need these? We have a page, Uncyclopedia:Votes for deletion/Archive-2014-09, that lists them all, and we have WhatLinksHere to find out that a page is mentioned in a VFD archive, and a talk page that is supposed to give the complete details. Who actually uses the Category? Spıke Ѧ 22:28 19-Sep-14
- Good question. I certainly don't use them, and now that you mention it I wouldn't miss them if they were gone. We still shouldn't have redlinks, though. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 22:48 19 September 2014
- Surely it is {{Oldvfd}} that includes the talk page in the category, and the redlinks could be removed in one fell swoop. This should be run past Puppy, though. Spıke Ѧ 22:53 19-Sep-14
- The non-existent category was being used to determine via DPL if an article is a recent deletion survivor. They don't need to be created. Technically they could be replaced by a link - similar to what FA uses, but I never managed to get that to work as such.
- Main thing was to discourage renomination of VFD survivors within a month. If you remove the link from OldVFD, it just stops the "Recent (Deletion Survivor)" coming up with {{VFDn}} (or whichever one the header is). • Puppy's talk page • 04:22 am 20 Sep 2014
- Oh is that what that's for. Sounds like a good thing. The only problem I have with red categories is that they clog wanted categories, but I doubt anyone else cares. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 04:27 20 September 2014
- Yep - DPL trick. There's a link that comes from {{FA}} that does much the same thing that used to bug me as well until I understood the purpose. The categories don't need to be created - just need to be linked. • Puppy's talk page • 04:31 am 20 Sep 2014

Poopsmith[edit]
I've seen the 'Now hiring for Poopsmith' and I saw Spike asking TheCan if he'd like to volunteer, so I thought you might be in need of volunteers. In case of the possibility that you are, I have some experience with this job and some amount of free time; I've only worked with the old system, but I could learn the new one. Just putting that out there. (Hope this is the right place.) ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 15:44 14 November 2014
