Continuing on from Forum:Stub, I started with Epistemology as a vital that needs addition that I'm not going to give. (Maybe, predictability is not my forté. Using words like forté is.) Anyway, it's there. Problem that I have is:

  1. Category:Vital articles should be added to any articles on the vital list. I have done a few, but there are a shiteload more to go.
  2. I'd like to have a page that works out what vital articles have been featured. That might be doable with a dpl, but I can't do it without spending a lot of time on it, and I would really prefer to just write more
  3. In Forum:Stub there was discussion about a template on vital articles that are placeholders. I'd like someone to create that, and have it link to a Category:Placeholder or something similar, so we can determine which vital articles need expansion.

I also had a look through UN:REQ the other day. It's hard to determine how long some I those have been waiting. I am starting to feel that it has become an insurmountable list, and there's nowhere to start at it. I'd like to trim out articles from there that don't have a Wikipedia equivalent. If we can get to a point where UN:REQ, UN:VITAL and most wanted articles can be put together as a semi-dynamic list, with some kind of prioritisation, then we can take the insurmountable and cut it down to a more focused and digestible, um, thingy. Any ideas on how to do this, or assistance in doing this, would be most appreciated. Pup 02:40 13 Jan '12

MadMax knows where a page that separates UN:REQ requests by years requested is. The whole list itself needs some cleaning, though. Uncyclopedia is better off without a good handful of the topics requested there. --Littleboyonly.jpg TKFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK Oldmanonly.jpg 02:44, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
Placeholder, page squatter, this site has been acquired for future development, super stub...I suggest only registered users with an article featured be allowed to do this in the mainspace (perhaps others can be vouched by a long standing contributor or admin if they hadn't had a feature). A tag will be required - one that flashes and dances perhaps.--Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:00, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
Fair point. Pup 11:18 13 Jan '12
Sounds like lots of work, the trimming of the requested list. Why not just concentrate on the Vital articles and place those on the schroll of "Requested pages" (as Puppy has formally requested them). Then there are many articles missing which are not on vital but should be, in a perfect vital world. Too many for one or twenty people to stress over, which is why a placeholder list sounds good too. This is one of those long haul things, and I should get focused on Kubrick soon so at least I'll feel as if I played a tiny part in climbing this particular but vital mountain. The category is a may as well, though if it's hidden that's probably better. Should probably leave UN:REQ out of this for now, if we go creating placeholders... UN:REQ is some useful stuff and a whole lot of other stuff, as you apparently noticed, though the really weird stuff usually gets removed.

Just a few notes,

  1. The most "complete" list is Template:Recent changes article requests which is what's being used on recent changes right now. It combines the original UN:REQ, UN:VITAL, and some other lists.
  2. The list TKF is referring to is Uncyclopedia:Articles requested for more than a year. It lists all requested articles from 2005 to 2010.
  3. I compiled this list as an idea for an UnProject or writing contest which I discussed with TKF a few months ago.
  4. I left a note at the Uncyclopedia:Foreign Office about the possibility of importing featured UN:VITAL articles from foreign Uncyclopedias. I've also been working on-and-off on a page for the project which lists all UN:VITAL articles for each Uncyclopedia. MadMax 22:57, January 13, 2012 (UTC)
I've just finished adding all UN:VITAL articles to Category:Vital articles. MadMax 07:12, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
