Request[edit]
Can you add User is blocked to the list? It's been deleted 4 times--Sir Manforman 22:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also, UN:DP doesn't redirect to this page, it redirects to Uncyclopedia:Deletion Policy, that should be fixed as well--Sir Manforman 22:42, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps UN:DP can still link to the policy, but UN:DPP can take you here? P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 00:23, Sep 27
- User is blocked would probally be best for Uncyclopedia:CVP. -- 14:51, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Why is this here? This should be exclusively for This page does not exist. That is the only page that is required to be redlinked for the inside joke. The others can just be sent to CVP if they keep getting recreated. JediBob Things I've said Things I've done 23:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- I like this format better. What's the point of having a blue link if it links to CVP?. You're not going to check every link in an article, and if there is a red link, (which stand out), you know you need to remove it, if it's blue, you are going to keep the link in. Just look at Barney for example--Sir Manforman 21:35, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Too true, but much of what's on CVP likely should be removed. Who's to say there never will be a valid page on fireworks? For that matter, many could have be redirected to valid existing pages such as diarrhoea to Poop Cuisine, buttsecks to anal sex, or Fucking Retarded to George Dubya Bush. And then there are so many that were placed there during a brief incident or vandalism spree, then never removed once the whole thing was long over and done with. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.150.76.42 (talk • contribs)

- Several of the articles you mentioned were redirects to featured articles, though Fucking Retarded linked to CVP. Also, if anything from CVP should be switched to UN:PT, it should be Barney the Dinosaur. There's way to many links, and it would be easier to remove them if it was red (as it stands out)--Sir Manforman 22:32, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Probably because I fixed a lot of CVP'd pages after reading that message. Some are redirected to similar subjects, some others just deleted so they can be created again. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 23:46, 05 Oct 2007
- Depends how similar they are. I have no idea why South Dakota is a redirect, but some 'bot will take that nice little blue link and spam it across half of Scandinavia claiming that West Dakota and United States of America are indeed one and the same concept. Then again, Georgia (U.S. State) as CVP makes no sense either. I thought this was a quality encyclopædia, accurate enough to reflect that there are ten provinces and fifty states in North America. After all, if I were looking for mere nonsense, I would go to Wikipedia.
Uncyclopedia talk:Templates/General[edit]
Can somebody explain why that talk page is DPP'd? Why can't we just protect it with a note directing people to some other place to discuss the templates? Just curious... Pentium5dot1 02:50, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- You should contact Hinoa, who protected the page, for info--Sir Manforman 20:56, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Forum:This Forum Topic does not exist[edit]
Although this title has only one deletion so far, it seems like something that should be made into a protected title. Could the admins consider whether to protect this title? Thank you. Pentium5dot1 00:26, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- Forum:This_forum_topic_does_not_exist has some good reasons why this isn't needed. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 02:49, 02 Nov 2007
CVP[edit]
Except for This page does not exist, redirecting all of the others to CVP would be a good idea.
- Please see the discussion above. AFAIK, CVP is used mainly when multiple incidents of vandalism have already occurred, while this page is used primarily as a preemptive measure. For further comments or complaints, please go to the Village Dump. Pentium5dot1 04:55, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Isn't this an in-joke?[edit]
This is for This page does not exist only. The rest should be either CVP, CRP, redirected to something else, or unprotected. I Am Your Master Insert complaint here 2 January 2008
- Copypaste from section above: AFAIK, CVP is used mainly when multiple incidents of vandalism have already occurred, while this page is used primarily as a preemptive measure. To clarify this: I don't think we can convert most of these PTs to CVP or CRP, but I strongly favor converting as many as possible of the PTs (and CVPs for that matter) to protected redirects to articles.
- Technical note: Wikipedia has deprecated its use of cascading protection on nonexistent titles in favor of allowing MediaWiki to protect nonexistent pages directly. This is not yet implemented in Uncyclopedia's version of MediaWiki AFAIK. --Pentium5dot1 03:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- I just checked some of the other languages and it looks like it's MediaWiki 1.12 that's required to get the special:protectedtitles functionality. MW1.11 doesn't support it, unless the functionality is back-ported. Pity, as it would allow an expiry date to be set on a page protect. WP also uses a title blacklist extension, but that seems to be for pattern-matching index.php/ and the like in spambot pagetitles?
- CVP is obsolete. It and no:ikkepedia:OVS should be deleted outright, along with anything that redirects there. If the pages get vandalised again, they should be relisted at that point... but relisted here, not in CVP. That way, they don't appear as blue links and don't get used as targets for inbound links.
This category does not exist[edit]
Even with nonexistent categories, you could click on the red link and see what pages were in it. Now that Category:This category does not exist is on here, we can't do that. That kinda ruins it. -- 00:38, Jan. 4, 2008
- What if we added something like the stuff at the top of Waldo to the Category page? - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 01:40, Jan 23
May I ask why Drew Pickles is on this list?[edit]
Shouldn't it redirect to Rugrats? Maybe have it be a locked redirect? --Dexter111344 21:46, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Philippines is on CVP? We might end up running out of Manila envelopes if this continues. For that matter, Malay should redirect to Malaysia instead of to CVP. Avoid the trap of heart!
CVP and robots[edit]
Using CVP as an alternative to this page seems to be causing problems like this edit. Ikkepedia:OVS is the equivalent to CVP. Basically, user creates page, page falls helplessly to the mighty swords of Ïkkëpëdïä's Vïkïng ädmïnïsträtör hördës, page gets redirected to some form of CVP and pretty blue links to a non-existent page remain in place. Evil robots of death and destruction find link, add it to the "in other language" box and spam it across the various other Uncyclopedias - even though it goes nowhere useful. Better to dump something on special:protectedtitles so that links to deleted articles are red and don't get mistaken for links to content.
And yes, Ikkepedia:OVS is useless as they're on MediaWiki 1.13 already. Go figure. --66.102.80.212 00:40, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yah, CVP redirects should probably all be cleared out sometime. Sometime when I can be more bothered, but sometime. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 02:30, 26 Feb 2008
Exactly which MediaWiki revision is needed...[edit]
...for Special:Protectedtitles to work? Special:Version says we are on some alpha of 1.12, but I don't see Special:Protectedtitles listed as one of the special pages. --Pentium5dot1 22:41, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- It's Special:Protectedpages. — Sir Manticore 04:04, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Um, nl:Special:Protectedtitles is not nl:Special:Protectedpages - one is for pages which do not exist.
- As the unsigned comment above (not by me) was meant to imply, I was talking about protecting nonexistent pages from creation. (See for example wikipedia:Special:Protectedtitles.) If I had meant to talk about ordinary page protection, I wouldn't have posted here. --Pentium5dot1 00:37, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I know, we're a slave to what extentions Wikia installs. We have some freedom of it, but in the end we're just a Wikia colony. They have opted out of installing the Protected titles page, presumably, and thus we are left without it. This is a fine alternative to it, for me. Plus, if we got it now, we'd have to convert frickin' everything to it; this and CVP.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 01:34, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think Special:Protectedtitles would be a bad thing because this, CVP, CRP, and VPV will all have to be re-formatted to it or whatever else Ljlego said. --Kurgan 01:45, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

- Special:Protectedtitles allows an expiry to be set, so that a page is protected from creation until whatever incident prompted its being locked blows over. The use of cascading protection doesn't allow automatic expiry, and CVP is worse still as it adds the problems of blue links continuing to exist from other, valid pages. I presume we need the real MediaWiki 1.12, not some alpha version which was already outdated when it was deployed?
Considering User:Kip the Dip/rickroll is restored[edit]
Shouldn't someone remove it from the list? – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 18:08 Apr 05, 2008
- Meh, I'll just delete it again. I only wanted it to screw with the main page on April Fool's. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 21:51, Apr 5
Javall McDermid[edit]
Javall McDermid has been recreated 5 times as vanityshite. I would have recommended CVP, but since I learned that it is being phased out, I am requesting that it be added here. Also, get CVP itself off of this list. It messes up the formatting. --Kurgan 01:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's not really necessary; the page was only ever created by one user and one IP(probably the same person), both of which have been blocked for doing so. If it comes back again, we can just permaban those two creators. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 01:12, Apr 9
Kate nash[edit]
Created 4 times as kate nash, 3 times as Kate Nash. DPP this before it becomes another Javall --Kurgan's Back. Prepare to get pwned. (Unless you are Chuck Norris) 20:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Also, in related news, Javall seems to be back -- Spillin DylanTALKEDITS01:11, April 28 2008
Template:Unglican[edit]
I'm not the world's greatest coder, but there seems to be a
missing from the template for Template:Unglican. It's leaving a
on my user page. I think I fixed it at User:Why do I need to provide this?/Template:Unglican. Someone please check and see what you think. WHY???PuppyOnTheRadio 05:33, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
Fish Puns[edit]
Can you remove Fish Puns from the list? It was added years ago as a featured article and I have an updated image for it; however can't update it because it's protected.
