Forum:Idea for future writing series? (WWI Centenary)
I've been talking to Thekillerfroggy about the upcoming WWI centenary and I brought up the idea of holding bi-annual writing competitions which, hopefully, would result in Uncyclopedia having a "core list" of WWI topics by June 2014. I've created a pseudo-project page on UN:REQ for this purpose, based on Wikipedia's Operation Great War Centennial, to track Uncyclopedia's progress.
In theory, the first of these competitions would take place in May/June 2012 and end roughly the same time in 2014. Before announcing anything official, I thought I'd check in with everyone to see how many people might be interested in participating and also to get some feedback. And since this would involve multiple competitions, should it be strictly limited to standard three-week contests? To keep things interesting, for example, each edition could consist of a different type such as a 24 hour or team-based contest. We could even retry the tournament format or introduce an entirely new idea. Anyway it'd be great to get everyone's thoughts. MadMax (talk) 16:01, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

- For. I'm in, no matter the format. I think more of a Conservation Week style approach would work best here, as opposed to a tournament, though. --
- That's something to think about. I don't think there's been one since, what, early 2010? Maybe the first edition could even be used to resurrect UN:CW. MadMax (talk) 18:59, March 3, 2012 (UTC)
- I've created a separate dump about holding a Conservation Week. -- Brigadier General Sir Zombiebaron 00:44, March 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Out of the 14 existing "core" topics, 4 have already been featured. If only 5 editors rewrote 2 articles each it might not take much effort to bring the rest to FA-status. MadMax (talk) 15:50, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

- For, but only if I am paired with an Australian, because I got plans to make something related to the Anzacs. 04:48, March 2, 2012 (UTC)
- There was a news story the other day about diggers graves being desecrated. Might be worth an UnNews if you want it. Pup 07:00 07 Mar '12
- Apathy It's a good idea. I'm not a fan of tying it in with UN:CW to be honest, and I'm not likely to do much to help. So this is a For. but a very lazy one. Pup 07:00 07 Mar '12
