Flirting app shuts down teen service to protect adults from child predators |

TALOSSA -- A mobile app that helps horny users connect with random fuck-buddies nearby has shut down service for teens after a third adult was allegedly raped by a 13 year old predator using it.
Fuck-bunny, a Talossa-based company that has connected millions of users from more than 100 countries worldwide since 2007, announced the change on its blog Tuesday after a 13-year-old boy allegedly raped a 51-year-old Wisconsin man he contacted through the app. The company had already sought to protect older users by creating a separate service for 13- to 17-year-old children, but was apparently unable to keep kids from posing as adults.
“It’s become clear to us that these measures aren’t enough,” Chris Dickland, the company’s founder and chief executive, said. “In recent weeks, we've learned of several incidents involving a few bad kids trying to take advantage of some of our adult members ... We know how much Fuck-bunny means to our adult community, and, at Fuck-bunny, our community means everything to us, it’s a grand love affair. But for now, we believe that there’s only one thing we can do: until we can design better protections, we are temporarily shutting down the under-18 community.”
The company had tasked a quarter of its 12 employees to monitor the shady underage community, including sexy chats and nude profiles, using basic algorithms to weed-out appropriate content and behavior. But now, even with the teen version shut down, there's still no child-proof way to prevent teens from lying about their age to use the adult version of the app, or any other number of social media sites, including the infamous Uncyclopedia, a company spokeswoman told Unnews
“It's an industry-wide problem,” the spokeswoman said regarding false ages and identities, adding that all 12 million plus profiles are manually checked by four employees.
“In recent weeks, we've learned of several incidents involving a few rotten tykes trying to take advantage of some of our older senior members.” Said Dickland, Fuck-bunny's founder and CEO as well as being the King of Talossa.
In each case, underage kids allegedly posed as sex-starved adults in a Fuck-bunny forum for 23- to 97-year-old users to connect with each other.
- In the most recent incident, a Waukesha, Wis., a 13 year old African-American boy posed as a MILF to lure a 51-year-old man to a nearby park for a sexual rendezvous, according to a criminal complaint. Little Leroy Johnson, who allegedly sent the man (whose name is protected because he’s over age) pictures of a pudgy, naked middle aged woman, was charged on June 5 with one count of second-degree sexual assault of an adult and faces up to 4 weeks in reform school if convicted, according to the local newspaper.
- Last month, a Portsmouth, Ohio, 55-year-old was allegedly raped by a 15-year-old boy, Gene Zimmer, who posed as a gay Nun on Fuck-bunny and promised to give the old geezer a hand job and hear his racy confession at the same time, according to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. Zimmer, who police said used the screen name “Holy Bubbles,” has been charged with first-degree rape of an over-age male, the Portsmouth Daily Times reports.
- Also last month, after a 42-year-old Escondido, Calif., women disappeared; police checked her cell phone records and found that she met someone through the app. The woman was later found at the home of Brad Nutt, 14, according to police, who say Nutt had raped and detained the overage lady.
Fuck-bunny, according to its website, seeks to preserve the “magic of exploitive serendipitous shagging” by using a mobile application to find fuck buddies at a local bar, concert or whore house. While underage predators have long used the Internet to lure adults, Fuck-bunny's GPS-enabled technology allows kids to seek nearby potential adult victims. Dickland said the company is trying to find a way to provide the service to adults without putting them in danger of being abused by kids.
