A Predator fallen victim to Chris Hansen, being shown on US News
This article is about the TV Show. For the HowTo: Article, see HowTo:Catch a predator.

To Catch a Predator is an American reality television series on the television news program Dateline NBC. It features confrontations with host Chris Hansen and is filmed with hidden cameras. Each episode follows Chris and his team luring Predators into a house. Hansen pretends to be an Xenomorph in online chat rooms in order to lure unsuspecting Predators to Earth.

The series started in 2004 and ended in 2007, lasting only three seasons. By the end of the show's runtime, Hansen had caught a whopping 26 Predators, which is a lot more than what Arnie did. Just saying.

Method[edit]

Chris Hansen himself would go on online chat rooms (with incognito mode on of course) and catfish Predators on the site into believing that he was a Xenomorph that was living on Earth. The Predators would then travel through space and time and all that jazz in order to meet up with the Xenomorph in order to hunt it. When the Predator got to Earth however, he would be greeted by Chris Hansen, who is a human male, not an Xenomorph! Plot twist of the century ammirite?

Anyway, Hansen would say a cheesy line like "Why don't you take a seat" or something and somehow, SOMEHOW, the Predator who is one of the greatest hunters in the ENTIRE FUCKING GALAXY (second to that of Boba Fett), complies and sits down. Hansen would then have tea and biccy's with the Alien Hunter for about 20 minutes in order to fill the 40 minute run time of each episode. After their tea and chat, the Predator would leave and on his way back to his ship, would be ambushed by the U.S. Army for 'illegally entering the Milky Way Galaxy'.

Investigations[edit]

Throughout the 3 seasons that the show ran for, Hansen chatted with 26 Predators. All 26 were charged with 'Conspiracy to commit murder' and 'Possession of an unregistered space vehicle'. For episode four of the second season, Hansen brought special guests Dutch and Dillion onto the show who had had a run in with a Predator back in '87. The two former Soldiers bonded with the Predator and became close mates. The two humans would often visit their alien buddy in his holding cell at Area 51 and have tea parties until the sun set and they were asked to leave. This friendship was frowned upon and caused controversy as humans and aliens aren't supposed to get along. This led to the shortening of season 3 of the show and its cancellation.

Spin-off show and Chris' death[edit]

Chris Hansen during his depression. Look how sad he is!

After the show was cancelled, Chris fell into a deep state of depression. In 2016, Chris managed to strike a deal with NASA to reboot the classic show and return to catching Predators. The show only lasted one season due to the fact that during filming of a second season, one Predator brought his red triangle laser shoulder gun thingamabob and blew Hansens' face clean off. The Marines who were on stand-by to arrest the creature after his afternoon picnic (alternative to tea and biccy's from the original show due to copyright reasons) opened fire which resulted in the first death of a Predator caught on camera, if you exclude the movies cause they aren't canon and kind of contradict this comedy article, ya know?

Chris Hansen is considered one of the greatest television hosts of all time and a giant cock block to those that were looking forward to hooking up with a Predator. There are whispers in the media of a third iteration of the show coming to light. This show instead would take the name of the first show, To Catch a Predator, and use a double meaning of the word 'Predator' to mean Pedophilia. It is unknown who will host the show at this point in time, however, Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau are reported to be producing it.
