  • I'd prefer less punning and less ridicule of black English and one sentence that explains how this UnNews is a logical extension of the law that really was passed (evident only in the title of the Source news). PS--There used to be a taboo against using our antimatter counterpart, WikiNews, as a Source. Spıke Ѧ 15:05 12-Oct-12
    1) Well there are three puns, I think, feel free to eliminate any one of them. 2) If UnNews has to be logical necessarily, I think I have misunderstood quite a few articles, but the idea here was that a gay-to-straight therapy is about as ludicrous as a blood-to-crip one. It's not a logicism, just a stoopid analogy. 3) I agree about the Ebonics. 4) I don't see why using WikiNews is a big deal, and a different source could be found with a google search if you're against breaking taboos. --~Leverage 08:44, October 14, 2012 (UTC)
Have found you a Source outside the wikisphere. You're attaching too much importance to my use of "logical," but your point (2) does beg for text, now at the start of the 2nd paragraph, to set out the analogy. On the rest, I'll obey the Chief and not substitute my humor for yours. Spıke Ѧ 09:44 14-Oct-12
  • Thanks for the source. With regards to the intro line, I was brought up on the Daily Mash, which doesn't even give you sources as references - it just trusts the reader to have read the same news as the writer! I actually like the source function on UnNews - it allows people to get stories even if they haven't read the original news - but to me naming the source is sufficient to let the reader know "this is what I am making a joke about". For me, if you then say, "this is an analogy of X", it takes something away from its satirical, parodical impact. But you like you say, personal taste.--~Leverage 10:34, October 14, 2012 (UTC)
Indeed I don't trust the reader to have read the same news, especially with our international participation. I hope my digression to reality, designed to make the UnNews funnier to more people, was brief enough not to detract. Spıke Ѧ 11:16 14-Oct-12
