Teddy Bears' Picnic at Hanging Rock will feature a lot of suggestive bread rolls.

SYDNEY, Australia. An award winning Australian film director Peter Weir is to remake his classic film Picnic at Hanging Rock but with teddy bears instead of actors in the lead roles.

The original film which was made in 1975 and was about a story of a party of young women climbing up a rock and then disappearing has been given the green light by Twentieth Century Fox. The director of the first film said he had so 'many bloody stupid interpretations' of what that movie was really about that he decided to remake it - with teddy bears.

Yeah..yeah..I know the old joke - Teddy Bears' Picnic at Hanging Rock - but this seemed like a good opportunity to revisit one of my old films again. So many bastards have turned my 70s film into a subject for a three year study course at college that I decided to get my own back.

In the original picture is was all about Victorian sexual repression, young women in corsets getting hot and stimulated on this rock and then all of them disappearing or coming back down down in distress. So I thought, I'll offer to remake it with stuffed bears and so who would bite. Luckily for me, my old mate 'Rupe' (Rupert Murdoch) said 'g'day Pete' and I got the cash. It's all going to be shot in 3D of course and will have some fast food tie-in as well.

Fans of the original film are said to be 'shocked', 'stunned' and 'stunted' by the news. They also suggested that Weir was 'leg pulling' everyone with his latest movie project. However Weir said he was deadly serious and had just bought the rights to the song Teddy Bears' Picnic to go along with the film, with its lyrics altered to reflect the slightly changed 2011 version.

I am ready to start shooting, added Weir.We are going to make a casting call soon so anyone who wants to see their bear on the screen, come along and take all your clothes off...only kidding..
