I had briefly added a different direction for this, before deciding it was better short-and-sweet:

President Obama, since volunteering that the U.S. has "no strategy" regarding ISIS, has also adopted more muscular rhetoric, resulting in comparisons on TV news networks to Abraham Lincoln, who in 1861 declared that the U.S. would "degrade" the Confederate Army, "shrink the sphere of influence" of Jefferson Davis, and turn slavery into "a manageable problem," if an international coalition could be assembled.

Where would Republicans travel back in time?

• To Earth Year 2008 to try to convince John McCain not to tell his base that Obama was "a nice guy who would make a fine President"?
• To Planet Massachusetts to try to convince Mitt Romney not to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Ted Kennedy and sign a universal coverage law that would mutate into Obama-care?
