Dentistry as practiced by chiropractors in the United States.

TROLL HARBOR, New York -- A chiropractor and psychic surgeon was arrested today on charges stemming from illegally practicing dentistry. Doctor Xavier Pandrippings, chiropractor and psychic surgeon, was booked on charges of unlawful and disgusting practice of dentistry. A hearing pending psychological evaluation will determine whether this case is pursued on criminal or civil grounds, or both.

This marks the first prosecution in the United States of fake doctors for performing dentistry. Other quack medicine practitioners are being investigated for selling bogus cancer preventatives, and vitalist cures.

Since 1975, so-called doctors of Chiropractic have been extended many of the same privileges and courtesies as actual Medical Doctors. Even so, the range of "therapies" they can practice is limited to a taking some X-rays, flimsy diagnoses and treatments of the spine using heat, cold, galvanic therapy, and "adjustments", usually resulting in cracking sounds, and a sense of relief when it's over.
