- Giuseppe Garibaldi (pictured) was a liberator in the mid-19th century who sought to unify the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies into modern-day Italy and had many "redshirts" under his command.
- Michael Garibaldi (played by Bruce Willis) was the Security Chief aboard the Babylon 5 space station. He strove against any risks to passenger safety that became larger than his own bêtes noirs.
