I've again fixed ones that I've fixed previously; preset image widths just don't cut it for presentation (too small), both in my little brain and the internet in general, now that storage space is not dear. But that means adjustment from the approx. 1000px to approx. 700px(?) page width. The gallery itself remains flexible in width, but not if one has set individual images based on the old width. We see cut off images on the right side, then.

So, is there a way to find galleries/gallery tags in order to fix them? Actually, the use of gallery tags has been rare on this site; it's been more about fitting images to look like a gallery and walking away. I added gallery tags to Hypnotist at one time (yeah, yeah, not perfect; captions still need format editing EDIT: now done.). Compare it with the non-gallery version I worked from, still existing on the fork, which still has missing/broken images. Note that I am not asking for a return to the 1000px page width. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 02:14, June 12, 2018 (UTC)

Problem solved. Llyw-ar-lawr has returned Uncyc to its full-width goodness, but only if you have FakeVector installed. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 23:48, June 17, 2018 (UTC)
While I appreciate the work done, I think we should keep in mind how this site will be seen by visitors. They may see it on cell phones, tablets, PCs, etc. I would imagine almost none of them will install a vector in order to view this site. I'm painfully aware. That's why I'm working on another solution for them. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 19:02 18 June 2018

Keep in mind that Uncyc works fine in Oasis if one doesn't mind the flashy stuff and the lack of Wikipedia illusion. I don't see people using cells as a reading platform; Wikipedia itself appears to just get consulted for quick answers. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 19:44, June 18, 2018 (UTC)

I checked Unc on the cellphone/mobile. I understand a lot of people see this website via this method. I can read/edit using a phone. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 19:50, June 18, 2018 (UTC)

So then, why the original brouhaha over site appearance? Recreational cell usage looks to be 50-100 times that of laptop usage in public from what I see. If "a lot" means that, we can infer then that cell users are the bulk of Uncyc's audience that don't want or need a Liam or a FakeVector. I'm sure not seeing a lot of personal CSS pages.--Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 19:58, June 18, 2018 (UTC)

You're not seeing a lot of personal CSS pages because there aren't a lot of editors. There's me, you, Romartus, Miley and Alden, and a handful of other people who come by now and then, and that's it. The readers aren't going to be making accounts just so they can have custom CSS. Llwy-ar-nenfwd (talk) 20:23, June 18, 2018 (UTC)
I am glad you see it pragmatically, but I still hope that the new signups that actually complete an article would avail themselves of FakeVector for the full immersive experience or at least test it. I'm pushing it to new writers though ultimately it's up to them to try it out; FakeVector has controls that make more sense in terms of writer needs. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 23:49, June 18, 2018 (UTC)
