Ten years already? Damn I'm getting old. But seriously, let's give a few moments of silence... Nah just kidding. Let's just praise those who gave their lives on that day (police and fire department), mourn those who died, curse on the terrorist-pieces-of-shit who were responsible for it, and support for those soldiers willing to put their lives at risk to stop terrorism. Oh, and praise the those Navy SEAL dudes death of Osama bin so fucking gay laden; may the bastard stay dead.

The effects of a virtual wall on me caring about 9-11

Today IRL I went to a 9-11 memorial ceremony (I work as a reporter), put on a solemn face, listened to patriotic music, and ate doughnuts, but thanks to the magic of the internet, I don't have to pretend like I actually give a shit. More people died in Japan. I don't see them celebrating and playing their techno crazy Jap shit. Yet. And where's the memorial for the Chilean miners? They died on 9-11 right? There's a difference the events in Japan and 9-11. Sure million of people died in the earthquake, but 9-11 was an attack; an declaration of war. Funny how they make events like pearl harbor or JFK's assassination more of a big deal than events like Hurricane Katrina or the Japanese earthquake., but I guess that's how life is. A little problem there, Jazzy. Fooor starters: None of the Chilean miners died. I'm not that patriotic myself, but I would think everyone, at the LEAST, would feel even a LITTLE sorrow for those dead, wounded, and their family. Only a complete dick (like Hitler) (or you, in this case) would have no regard for humanity (actually, the dickheads that flew the planes, and that bitch Osama Bin-Laden) and not even care about the results of 9/11. Well, starvation and poverty seem to be issues where even the best efforts of the Govt seem to be insufficient. Those people die because of unfortunate circumstances, not because a monster wanted them dead. Terrorism, on the other hand, is a deliberate, man-made disaster. The reason these attacks shake us more than the deaths of the heavily deprived is the same reason why you'd feel much worse if your loved one was murdered, instead of dying in an accident or illness. 'Twas a sad, sad night

It was a blatant assault on a building. A mass murder of 3,000 innocent people. What really bugs me is that the meatheads behind this vicious assault on America (I'm not an American, but I LOVE their TV shows) were only too happy to get themselves killed in the process, as it is pretty obvious that none of the hijackers lived to see another day.

Of course, the mastermind who did NOT kill himself, aka Osama Bin Laden, has been shot dead by Navy SEALS (fuck the "Human Rights" whiners, he DESERVED it!), but his terrorist pals would much rather hail him as a martyr and continue waging war against USA and other democracies instead of showing any sort of remorse, or even genuinely mourn him! Terrorism is nothing but a cold, heartless monster, which constantly changes its form. The fact that we human beings created it sets it apart from natural disasters which are completely out of our control. This, Mrthejazz, is why the media, and the general public would be far more infuriated and horrified at a terrorist attack than any sort of natural disaster, however catastrophic it may be.

I don't understand how 1,000 year-old grudges could make people so violently angry that they target innocent people in the name of "vengeance", or God. It's a shame that they cannot see how many lives they've destroyed, all the children they've orphaned, all the women they've widowed.
