For: 1
  1. Encyclopedic, educational, and funny. Very nice. See comment below. Aleister 22:04 29-1-'13
Against: 3
  1. Against. It's not bad for an article, but it doesn't stand out. I would say it suffers from "towncruft" I.e. one half of the jokes are applicable to a dozen other nations, and the other half are things that only a native would get. Mn-z 14:41, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
If this is how it comes off, then your vote is justified. But any article on Peru will rely either on the generic or the specific. Does this vote simply mean (as perhaps many votes against Kerala did) that the reader is unlikely ever to have the knowledge to understand the humor? Spıke Ѧ 12:43 31-Jan-13
  2. Against. Starts with 3 lousy quotes - ho hum Funnybony Icons-flag-th.png Agnideva-small.jpg AGT-logo-small.jpg 09:18, Feb 4
  3. Symbol against vote.svg Against. Formerly Self-nom and For. Doesn't lead with its best, and the very lead is still in Spanish. I have an audience in mind but it's not the typical main-page audience. From the Maya to Fujimori to the Jukebox from Hell to chicha and ceviche, every word is true. 13:42 29-Jan-13 rescinded Spıke Ѧ 11:53 9-Feb-13

I'm glad Aleister is eating well--but there's no mention of quinoa in the article. (I know, which is why I mentioned it, maybe adding it in will do for the people there who can't afford it any more, they can look at this picture of quinoa and salivate. - Al)
Who said that??? Critical Aleister: Too many quotes, they always bog down pages and one or two sets the tone, more blows the volcano and we all run, imnho. Happy Food Aleister: I had quinoa for the second time today, delicious!! It's called "The Mother Grain" in the andes, and it's become so popular among the hoity-toity health people of Europe and America that its been priced out of range for many of the people in South America who have eaten it for centuries. Yummmmm. I've been studying a lot about the early cultures of Mexico, central and South America lately, so this fits right into my study pattern. Thanks! Aleister 22:09 29-1-'13
I see your point. The Yoda quote can go elsewhere, SUTEP (a Marxist trade union that sounds like swine-calling) can disappear, but don't make me huff the long Spanish one, with esa webada salió (this webbed (=web page) came out) which sounds just like huevada (egged: a clumsy move by a guy with huge balls). (I know...If you have to explain the joke....) Spıke Ѧ 22:31 29-Jan-13
