Don't know enough about him to make a fair assessment. There is a heavy reliance on apes and I feel the article suffers because of it. It sounds like there could be other criticisms that could be used. The same head-shot being photoshopped onto different bodies did get a chuckle out of me.

• I got a laugh out of seeing an adult, bearded Mel Gibson's face on a young boy.
• I did not laugh once at seeing Mel Gibson's racism or antisemitism replaced with "anti-humanism". It read to me like fan fiction set in an alternative universe populated by anthropomorphic animals in which racism and antisemitism as we know it do not exist, but speciesism does. This might work in some contexts (Bojack Horseman, maybe?), but I do not think it works here.
• "Take your stinking paws off me you damn dirty human!" -- That line (and its variations) did not make me laugh the first time, and seeing it more than once did not make it any funnier to me.
• This is entirely hilarious: "The film was a rare sympathetic tribute to apes and future U.S. presidents." |
