From VFH 1[edit]

  • Against While I do realize that alot of work was put into this article, it is very hard to read. --Sir Zombiebaron 03:24, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Comment Most of this article is copied from here (and subsiquent therein linked pages). The only actual original stuff is at the top, which I could read (kinda sorta) and it wasn't all that funny. --Sir Zombiebaron 03:28, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Apparently you've never read an epic poem; them bitches are hell tryin to read. Also, you'll see that I inserted chunks into the copied portion.--The Jeff Killer 03:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

From VFH 2[edit]

  • Against, sadly. The hard-to-read part is rather the point, but the copying makes it lose all potential VFH-ness. If you write your OWN epic poem, with elements from other epic poems without copy/paste, I'd vote for. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 06:21, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Let me get this straight; I have to write a epic poem, a goddamned epic poem, to get this shit featured? Jesus, man; that'd take weeks! Also, how come your votes carry double weight?--The Jeff Killer 07:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I often take weeks to write things. It looks like you wrote 2.5ish paragraph-sized chunks and maybe two dozen short lines. You don't need to write an epic poem to get an article featured, but you probably need to write more than that, and you might need to write a short epic poem to get something titled "epic poem" featured. --monika 10:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, but you see; I have other obligations than this site that occupy 90-95% of my free time. Also, I've seen some really short articles get featured. Quality over quantity, I always say.--The Jeff Killer 06:48, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

From Pee Review[edit]

  • Brilliant stuff. A few more links and some spelling corrections and it'll be feature-worthy. --Nydas 00:05, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
  • State-of-art! (this is a positive review) herr doktor needsAgear Rocket.gif [scream!] 00:55, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

On the Subject of VFD 1[edit]

Wow, from VFH to VFD.

OK, the consensus on the VFD discussion seems to be that the inclusion of the Nieblungenlied poem is a mistake similar to including the corpse of a real sperm whale with every copy of Moby Dick.

Hey you authors -- The Jeff Killer, El Zoof, Alksub -- what do you want to see here? Would you like an original epic poem in the general style of the Nieblungenlied, or do you want a spoofy romp like the one I started? I can do either. (I warn you: I cannot do a completely straight epic poem. If I produce a Nieblungenlied-style poem it will have sneaky puns and shit in it, I simply can't help it. But I can do a straighter version than the "Kriemhild Beer®" silliness if you want.)

I really like the paragraphs introducing and explaining the epic poem genre; they're well-writed and funny. I would like the subsequent poem to overcome the objections of the community. For me writing doggerel poetry is much like doing crossword puzzles -- it ain't quite the burdensome task that it would be for The Jeff Killer (no bad cess to him; it's just a difference in personality and, well, the fact that I have extensive brain damage while he seems to be a productive member of the human race.).

Anyway, check in with an opinion if you have one. ----OEJ 03:22, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I'd go with the humourous style at the expense of the "long and boring" joke and bold text. Alksubsig.gifAlksub - VFH CM WA RV {talk} 07:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Like I said on VFD: "The point of this page is that nobody will actually read any of the poem itself, so the purpose of the verse is similar to that of a picture or just general page formatting like blank lines to hide text (see Waldo)." Taking the bold text out will kill the article, so don't do that. I have no objection to you rewriting the poem, but I do think it's a bit of a pointless exercise - rather like Long article, even if it's brilliant, most people are just going to glance over it and barely see it. Sorry to be brutal. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 09:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
