RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- An airplane landed and the passengers disembarked after a safe flight from Brazil's northeastern city of Recife early on Wednesday uneventfully transporting all 16 people on board, airport officials said.
The plane, operated by small regional airline, Noar Linhas, flew to Caruaru after taking off at 6:51 a.m. (0951 GMT). At the airport all 16 passengers changed planes and continued their journey to another northeastern city, Natal.
Television images showed the plane clean and parked at the airport being prepared for its next flight.
According to a statement from Brazil's Air Force, the pilot reported no mechanical problems after take-off and flew to make a perfect three-point landing on the runway.
One witness told the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper that he saw a woman along with all the other passengers in the plane after it landed.
"I saw a woman in the window taking photographs. After it landed all the passengers left the plane for the terminal and there was nothing that needed to be done," local security guard Erandir Rodrigues da Silva was quoted as saying.
Noar, which opened its business just over a year ago and operates 278 flights a week, had no comment on the successful routine flight.
The plane that landed was a twin-engine L-410 built by LET Aircraft Industries in the Czech Republic.
