Talk:Emu War
Humour: | 9.5 | Brilliant! After reading the article for the first time, I couldn't think of any suggestions of improvement at all, although I tried really hard.
However, you gave us a quote from Winston Churchill but told that only a bunch of Australian farmers and soldiers participated in the conflict. Maybe you can add a section where you will tell about how other governments participated in the war (for example: the USA supplied farmers with ammunition but all the boxes with it got lost, you can add whatever you want to justify your Churchill quote (which is great)). I am not going to name all the positive sides the article has because all of your jokes are very good! |
Concept: | 10 | Making a serious war conflict out of the real Emu War is an excellent idea! The only problem is that your opinion about how great the conflict was is rather ambiguous, you say that it is celebrated by emus (which means that it is significant for them) but throughout the article you seem to imply that it was not that hard for them to win! I did not diminish your points for that because maybe it is me who did not fully understand the concept. |
Prose and formatting: | 9 | Very good way of treating Wikipedia information, making it funny and still writing it in a scientific way. The only things I have noticed are several small defects. Here is one of them:
|
Images: | 9 | The images are simply great. The first one is really funny and the comment to the second one is hilarious. The only negative point is that the first image is maybe a bit too small for the reader. Also, as the reader, I think that the third image would only make the article better. |
Miscellaneous: | 9.4 | Average score. |
Final Score: | 46.9 | I don't know if you think that it's good (you didn't nominate it for VFH) but I, myself, think that it is one of your best articles. It is good enough for nomination even in its current state but there are still several things to improve:
All in all, I really enjoy writing reviews for you and I would like to do more of them in future. |
