THIS IS A RANDOM FORUM TOPIC WHERE PEOPLE CAN ASK IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO CERTAIN THINGS. SO DON'T CLOG UP THE VILLAGE DUMP WITH TOPICS WHEN THIS RANDOM TOPIC IS GOOD ENOUGH.
Or you can. See if I care. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 12:37, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

...to permanently delete pages so that they can never be undeleted?

~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 13:27, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Nope, but you can redirect them to Nihilism and permanently block the redirect.---Asteroid B612B612.jpg (aka Rataube) - Ñ 13:47, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
But then could an admin delete that version of the page and undelete the version which wasn't a redirect to Nihilism? ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 13:51, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
No, an admin couldn't. But developpers and staff can, in a sense. They can delete revisions that sysops can't restore. But of course developpers can restore 'em. --⇔ Sir Mon€¥$ignSTFU F@H|CM|+S 13:53, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
That's a shame... it would be better if articles could be permahuffed without anyone being able to unhuff them. Maybe in a later version of MediaWiki like... 99. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 13:55, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Why? I don't see the problem.---Asteroid B612B612.jpg (aka Rataube) - Ñ 13:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
You might not yet, but someday... around the year 2026[1]... Wikipedia will explode from having too many deleted articles stored in the memory. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 14:03, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Actually, CVP works kind of like that. An admin can make a title redirect there, and no one can recreate it. --The King In Yellow (Talk to the Dalek.) 16:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Apart from "developpers and staff", of course. ~ Ghelæ talkcontribs 10:57, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
En.wp has a thing called oversight which allows certain edits to be deleted and only viewed by staff or oversights, which limits it down to about 40 people... I'm not sure if those can be restored after they've been deleted, but I'm pretty sure they can't. DG has oversight, so maybe you should ask him... Ok, that's it then. Oh well, better wait a few more years then for that.

Oversight deletions are visible in the oversight log to other people with oversight. Developers with database access can undelete oversight deletions, but they have to use MySQL commands to get the database to admit it knows them. - David Gerard 16:15, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

...to make that username js in UPPERCASE? How about to use it more than once per page?

Uppercase for {{Template:Expletive-admin}}, multiple times for various uses, one such example being Game:Game Online/Multi_Player. --User:Nintendorulez 16:13, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

<span style="text-transform: uppercase;">text</span> will make things uppercase. I think the once per page applies to as it appears on a page. You can put <insert name here> in a choose function multiple times as long as it appears only once per page. ---Quill.gifRev. Isra (talk) 19:22, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Also, anyone who hates that <insert name here> template as much as me can make it invisible by putting #insertusername {display: none !important;} in their uncyclopedia.css. ---Quill.gifRev. Isra (talk) 19:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
I prefer to have mine like Username. Like one of those name tag things. Although I'd prefer it if {{USERNAME}} was deleted altogether. Spang talk 02:30, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
But that would break a punchline in HMS Potatore!--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 03:51, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

...to travel faster than the speed of light?

What? You made this to ask if it was possible to do anything. Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 19:36, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

good that you asked. yes, you're in the right place. you can ask any such thing here. just ensure your query is random. if it isn't, please start a new forum topic and clutter our dump. thank you for travelling with us. have a good day! yours kindredly -- mowgli 19:47, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Only by warping space via a Warp drive Star Trek or entering Hyperspace or something. Einstein got a few things wrong, I heard he had problems with math. Also gravity has been known to travel faster than the speed of light as distant stars seem to have effects on objects so far away that it should not be possible to effect those objects that quick. Still don't rule out dark matter and dark energy that has been known to bend space/time. Speed is only distance over/divided by time, distance is a measure of space or matter in space, time is of course a relative term. If you effect time or distance/space/matter, it is very possible to travel faster than the speed of light. I was very good with physics in high school and college, plus I am into science fiction being the geek that I am with my Vulcan ears and such.--Off Des Orion Blastar (talk) 21:15, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

...to make another useless Ubuntu?

I'm betting the next one will be Pornbuntu. --Icons-flag-us.png SonicChao Babbel!Contribs 19:38, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I can't wait until they make an Unbuntu. --Off Des Orion Blastar (talk) 21:18, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

for some random canadian (or non canadian)...

to create a "coat of arms" for Canada. the page is "featured" and should not be left the way it is. anyone taking up this challenge should leave a msg in Talk:Canada first (in case there is a stampede). -- mowgli 06:06, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

What's a Canada?--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 06:14, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
The new flag of Canada, chosen to reflect their culture and traditions.

it's a tropical fruit with aphrodisiacal properties. also consider adding a caption to the flag as shown on the right and as it once appeared on the "featured" page before i linked the page to the generic "infobox country" template - precisely whether the caption is worth it. If it is, then the COA should also ideally have a caption (like "AAAAA"). btw, modusoperandi you are hereby punished with this and the COA task for asking silly questions. -- mowgli 07:01, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

a) You're not the boss of me, eh. b) I'm thinking about (or aboot) the COA now...--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 15:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
all your modusoperandi are belong to us. boo! but do think about COA. do think for a change. if you still can't think of anything, just draw. we know you are a good potatochopper. -- mowgli 15:55, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
