I think the article tries too hard to impersonate than to actually detail some humour. If the guy is willing to lie about whether or not he actually has a hovercar, why wouldn't he just lie about the other details, as well? Personally, I think you should either change the ending so that it's an actual hovercar, or change the beginning so all he talks about is how fantastically great the car is until the buyer realizes that it's a honda civic with a fan duct taped to the bottom.
