The show was awarded the Homo phobics "must be GAY propaganda show targeting kids" award from the Westboro Baptist Church, whom denoted runner-ups like the psychedelic Teletubbies, Barney the PURPLE people-eatin dinosaur and the Bert and Ernie "odd but not so odd" couple on Sesame Street. Quotes[edit]
I added some quotes, I hope people like them. Otherwise change them. I like the Mr. Crabs quote, but I 'm not sure about the one from Spongebob. Reality2 (talk) 22:52, October 6, 2014 (UTC)
- They should come out (as should the one that was there before). The new ones are what UNQUOTE calls "bickering quotations." They make a page read like a comic book rather than an encyclopedia article, for the sake of an author's desire to have the very first word. It is putting a mini-episode before you have introduced the characters and set the stage. Spıke Ѧ 23:02 6-Oct-14
- In my opinion, you don't. The "framing joke" to all the jokes you write is that this is an encyclopedia (not indeed a TV show), along with the joke that Uncyclopedia thinks it's serious but it's crap. There is a comparable problem with photo galleries and YouTube videos. Tell whatever jokes you like, but make their form support our framing joke. Spıke Ѧ 23:15 6-Oct-14
- A separate issue is that this website is for original comedy writing, not to catalog amusing or ridiculous stuff that was done elsewhere. So someone has invented SpongeBob condoms: This might be okay for a cameo, but when you write a whole section about it, what you are essentially doing is reporting, not creating comedy. Spıke Ѧ 23:21 6-Oct-14
- A still 'nother issue is that this was a Featured Article (ran on our main page) and "is assumed not to need new help being funny" no matter what items you found in some Japanese pharmacy. Spıke Ѧ 23:28 6-Oct-14
- --And for that reason Admin Xamralco has reverted the article to the revision that was featured. Spıke Ѧ 00:01 7-Oct-14
- Ok, my first language isn't English and I have some hard time understanding exactly what you mean: "The "framing joke" to all the jokes you write is that this is an encyclopedia (not indeed a TV show)". I 'm not saying this in a sarcastic way, but I wonder if you could point me out a few elements in this article which are funny. I try to read it and laugh, but this subject has a lot of potential for funny stuff, while I see mostly mocking in this article. For example: Ehm, I 'm sorry, I 'm 22 years old so maybe that's the reason why I don't immediately see what makes this article being featured. For example, Mr Krabs having a whale as a daughter has potential for jokes, but nothing is mentioned about it. Instead, I see jokes which, if they are funny, only make me think: ok, that's nice, but a featured article is supposed to make you LOL, not just give you a little smile. Besides, I have written for the Dutch uncyclopedia and using elements which are quite different from the rest of the article can add to the humor. For example, I wrote an article about a philosopher, Martin Zizek, which I also translated to English, as I didn't include jokes only relating to the Dutch language, and I just randomly inserted a story about a razor in it. Zizek. Although now that I re-read the Zizek article, I see that it's actually not very funny.
- I don't regard this article as one of our funniest, and you'll see in the History that I deleted several parts before noticing it was a FA; at that point Xamralco returned it to the featured version. Spıke Ѧ 20:24 7-Oct-14
