...this is brilliant. I'm going to fix it up, give it a bit of shine. --Andorin Kato 05:16, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

yes for sure[edit]

i like it and added stuff on the discovery (its based on a french character) to Sarah Palin, the controversies and a couple edits. What I like about it is that 1. the punch line often comes at the end 2. it is clean and uses subtlety to make the jokes I tried to keep my additions that way, but who knows where the article will go now nice discovery in any case

This is magnificent[edit]

Well done, France. --Black Flamingo 14:09, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Permission to Use?[edit]

So I read over the licencing section and the Creative Commons license, and it basically told me that the definition of a commercial use and whether or not the use of any content under this license is legal is more to the discretion of the author(s.)

My question is this: I have written a short story in which it mentions negative potatoes (which is fine and legal) and at the end of the story I wish to include a list of terms included within; much like a dictionary. Eventually I would plan on getting this story published in either a literary magazine or a short storybook etc (yes for monetary compensation.) Would you authors of this article be ok with this?

Below is the usage of this article for which I am requesting permission:

Negative potatoes- (Here is an excerpt on negative potatoes from uncyclopedia.wikia.com) “Sometimes called anti-potatoes, are an edible cousin, and the exact opposite, of the widely known potato. A member of the negative tuber family, their existence is centered around the belief that while it is possible to possess no potatoes simply by having zero potatoes, it is also possible to have fewer than no potatoes with even one negative potato. Their paradoxical existence has granted negative potatoes special properties. The appearance of a negative potato is dependent on the individual perceiving it: whatever would represent the exact opposite of a potato is the form that a negative potato takes to them. Most people perceive negative potatoes as slightly radioactive, potato-shaped holes in space.” -DrPenguin

I am not the author nor his lawyer, but anyone can copy anything here and use it with attribution. As you are not passing the work off as your own, and as I assume you will attach additional value that is worth the money paid, the above seems to be permitted by the license. The reader can come here to find out which individuals wrote the text. However, it's not clear to me how including a snippet of someone else's humor improves the marketability of your essay. I'd even go so far as saying that this would be classed as a citation, as it's a small section of a "scholarly" source. All that is required is to correctly cite your sources and you should be golden. [citation needed]                               Puppy's talk page07:30 pm 17 Jul 2014
