I'm awfley sorry old chap but this Lanky Twang thing sounds awfley like Yorkshite. One would seriously have to question whether the author is an authentic Lancastrian but perchance a Yorkshitter or Yorkshitter collaborator. Think Geoffrey Boycott. Ecky-Thump! Actually there are a great many similarities between a number of the northern dialects and a lot of cross fertilisation of word usage. A good example is "nesh" which a lot of places say is used in Yorkshire and yet I have always heard it in Liverpool and South Lancs. Go figure. Bolton, eh? -- Sir Mhaille  (talk to me)
