Forum:Switching ja interwiki link to the new Ansaikuropedia
Hi. Though the news is an UnNews, it is also true that the Japanese Uncyclopedia has been forked due to corruption, suppression, tyranny, and several other problems.
I know forking a wiki is a complicated issue, but I also know that you guys are kicked out from most of the Uncyclopedias hosted by UnMeta staffs including the Japanese one, and the forked Uncyclopedia is now regarded as the official Uncyclopedia throughout the world, though it's you the Uncyclopedia on Wikia which is the ORIGINAL.
So here's my proposal.
Since our wiki on Miraheze is NOT hosted by UnMeta staffs, we can have our own interwiki links. I, as an admin and a bureaucrat of the forked Uncyclopedia, would like to promise you to assign the en: interwiki prefix to your wiki (the original Uncyclopedia on wikia), if you agree to add us as the Japanese Uncyclopedia (with the ja: interwiki prefix) and remove the other one which kicked you out (since we have relations with UnMeta, we will still probably have to add an inter wiki link to the "official" one, but we'll assign a different code (en-gb or en-ca, perhaps) to them; the en: code will be assigned to you if you agree).
It's mutually beneficial, because we are linked to each other if it's done, and you'll no longer be kicked out by the Japanese community. It's also no use to give a one way link to the one which betrayed you guys, is it?
So please consider my proposal. I hope we can make a good deal. Thanks :)--The Pioneer JP (talk) 18:28, August 15, 2018 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're proposing. DAP Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 18:43, August 15, 2018 (UTC)
- So what I'm proposing is (from a technical point of view):
- If you change the interwiki link ja: from
ansaikuropedia.org
toansaikuropedia.miraheze.org
, - We'll add
uncyclopedia.wikia.com
(instead ofen.uncyclopedia.co
) for en: interwiki link on our wiki
- If you change the interwiki link ja: from
- --The Pioneer JP (talk) 18:50, August 15, 2018 (UTC)
- From a political point of view, it means:
- If you regard the new Ansaikuropedia as the official Japanese Uncyclopedia,
- We'll also regard you as the official English Uncyclopedia. (And the forked one will be regarded as something else)
- Please also note that the old Ansaikuropedia regards the forked one as official, giving them the interwiki link en: and not giving you any interwiki links.--The Pioneer JP (talk) 18:59, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

- This sounds fine to me, but only Wikia staff and "helpers" can edit the interwiki table. (See Special:ListGroupRights.) Such a request would ultimately have to go to them, and I don't know how likely they are to accept it. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 20:18 15 August 2018
- This proposal is a non-starter. Fandom-Wikia won't allow links to other sites they don't host and we can't do anything here to change it.--RomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 22:31, August 15, 2018 (UTC)
- That's what I thought. DAP Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 00:25, August 16, 2018 (UTC)
- But we already have interwikis to non-Wikia wikis, including ja:. You mean they won't even allow changes to those? Are you sure of this? ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr • talk • contribs • 22:24 16 August 2018
- Llwy-ar-lawr is right. There are already links heading outside Wikia(Fandom), and we may have a chance to negotiate with the staff members. Anyways, it's still a good idea to form a consensus here beforehand, because it might help their decision.--The Pioneer JP (talk) 11:02, August 17, 2018 (UTC)
- And I also couldn't find policies to ban linking to communities outside wikia. They also have global interwiki links heading outside wikia, such as zeldawiki: or acronym:.--The Pioneer JP (talk) 11:44, August 17, 2018 (UTC)
- I think that's ok but only if Wikia-Fandom don't host their own version of the website/community. Hence you won't find any official links to the other Uncyclopedia here, only via user pages and when it is relevant in a forum discussion. --RomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 20:43, August 17, 2018 (UTC)
- It's true that Wikia hosts several versions of Uncyclopedias in different languages, but it's also true that they don't have the Japanese one. For this reason, as long as it's limited to the Japanese version, I think this will be a valid request.--The Pioneer JP (talk) 08:09, August 20, 2018 (UTC)

- Has anybody who reads Japanese compared the two Uncyclopedias? DAP Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 19:06, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
- Let me tell you the differences. For now, there aren't much differences in the articles we have in common. However, we have a more strict standard of humor and currently only the best articles are imported from the original one (Well, this higher standard of quality is also because there are other Japanese humor wikis such as Usopedia co-existing on Miraheze; we're in an more competitive environment). We also have some original pages, of course, with better quality.--The Pioneer JP (talk) 12:47, August 27, 2018 (UTC)
