Hi out there,

one of our readers who is also a Facebook user wanted to create a link from his facebook page to an Uncyclopedia article he enjoyed. But when people click on his link they receive a warning that Uncyclopedia is a potentially dangerous site and are scared away. This is due to some McAfee "TrustedSource" stuff that obviously has assessed Uncyclopedia and found it dangerous, infected or whatever. You can see that for yourselves here: [1], though it does not say what exactly would be the problem with Uncyclopedia.

This problem occurs with uncyclopedia.org addresses only, so most of you will have no problem with it because it does not occur with uncyclopedia.wikia.com urls, but we at German Uncyclopedia use the .org url. I notified German Wikia of that problem since Wikia is the owner of the domain (as far as I know) but I thought I tell you too. Take care. Maybe it's a german specific thing, because of their censorship laws about talking about nazis, pirates, or hentai. One of those, I forget which. Aleister 11:46 1-2-'12
*Cough* probably not, I hardly believe that McAfee cares for that stuff and in fact our censorship laws are not so restrictive. We have no religious authority like Iran or the US. NaturalBornKieler (talk) Germany Flag 1.png 12:55, February 1, 2012 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia is dangerous. It's got facial herpes. On its crotch. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 01:24, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Since it didn't do that with other domains, you should probably take this up with Wikia, as they're the ones who actually own the things. That said, even if you did get the same thing on those, it'd probably be their fault anyway, since they're the ones who keep breaking the site anyway. Bastards; I'm supposed to be the 'destroyer of the wiki', not them.

Everybody here, please sign up for the Happy Monkey contest. This year the monkey organizer is looking to have 55 people play, and it's actually a pretty good headcount on the sign up list. Come one, come all, in the good use of the word. Yay Happy Monkey! (this message brought to you by Wikia, the last best hope for mankind) Aleister 2:39 3-2-'12
McAfee probably marked this site as a security risk because somebody put a link to a bad site somewhere. Now the mirror I can understand that, but uncyclopedia.wikia.com? Probably something that slipped by all us censors. Though I have been off duty the last couple days due to computer issues. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 18:25, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
On (and off) this topic, I'm pretty sure that we could put McAfee on our security risk list. After all, anything that thinks we are is almost certainly projecting it's own flaws on us. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 2012.02.08.07:51
Is that why they're so handsome? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:29, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
AVG FTW! And it's free. Sir Georgie Harangue Mediocracy 19:39, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
I once had to remove a piece of malware called 'AVG' from a windows machine. Had the same logo and stuff, too.

Probably, Modusoperandi. It's also why they're so witty and lovable. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 2012.02.09.02:15
