Unused images: 0-9 A-B C-D E-F G-H I-J K-L M-N O-P Q-R S-T U-V W-X Y-Z

There are currently about three thousand unused images... just updated the list today but I don't really want to post three thousand "homeless image notification" messages to user talk pages. If any are duplicates, useless, or merely copied verbatim from outside sources, could you please list them for deletion? --Carlb 20:04, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

NO NO NO NO many are not in fact "unused" but instead used in variouse templates or via other tricks with confuses the unused images pages, if you have deleted anyone in a mass rampage you may have fsked a lot of templates. In addition unlike articles when you delete an image, there is no going back, so the rule with images is very much measure twice cut once!!!! Only delete if you are very, very, very sure it's unused.

It is possible to go back by using the images.tar file (see wikia:database download or the dump header for details) - it's one big (900Mb or so) file which contains every image in an entire Uncyclopedia, for use as a backup. Nonetheless, it is a last resort - used unused images should be being tagged {{notorphan}} but do be wary. --Carlb 20:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Why delete them? As far as I know that doesn't give us more disk space? I'm not saying you shouldn't, just asking out of curiosity.--Rataube 14:09, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Many of them are duplicates (where a user uploaded an image, changed it slightly, and then uploaded a new version under a different name instead of keeping the old name and overwriting the image). Others are leftover from articles which have been deleted, and often are merely copies of images available freely elsewhere (commons.wikipedia.org openclipart.org and the like). No point keeping multiples of stuff that we aren't going to use. --Carlb 20:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok, as per Elvis' comment I won't delete any more, but I'm confident that if any of the ones I already deleted were used in templates, that those templates deserved a good fsking. --Spin 00:00, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm perfectly happy to abstain from wading through that stuff, but if shitty unused images with no "notorphan" template aren't fit for deletion, I'm not sure what is (other than that notable exception starting in "g" and ending in "se.cx," and it's compatriots.) --Spin 02:24, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
