Verne Troyer
Verne Troyer (January 1, 1969 -April 21, 2018) is best known for play the condensed evil 'Minnie Mouse' in the Austin Rover film series The Crankshaft has broken.
Troyer who was never destined to appear in a reboot of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is reported to have died in strange circumstances. No further details released.
Early Career[edit]
Verne (named after Jules Verne) was never expected to become a film star. He was even shorter than Tom Thumb. He instead never grew to more than 2ft tall and wasn't expected to live long. That he got to his 40s was regarded as a miracle.
Though Troyer's family tried to stop him becoming an actor, the mighty Verne said he was aiming to become the next Tom Cruise. He would therefore audition for all sorts of film roles and then when he wasn't picked, would shout 'Heightist' and 'Big Bone Bigots' when he was invariably turned down.
Austin Metro[edit]
The struggling British car industry (add: no longer exists) was looking for a film to portray their model range. The first film Austin Mini was a success but a quick follow up Austin Metro wasn't so successful. Then by chance a short executive at Rover Cars saw a photo of Verne Troyer and recommend him to Mike Myers to include him in the next film. This was done and the rest was Austin Rover.
Later Films[edit]
Troyer's smash film success as the evil Austin Mini-Me led to other car-related film roles. He was approached to appear as a mascot in the Churchill television car insurance advertisements. All the film roles looked very similar to Verne who longed to be cast in a big budget, serious drama film. He was never given that chance.
Death[edit]
Troyer died in April 2018. In death people now know what they had been missing. Troyer would have walked Mission: Impossible.
