Um, Ooops?[edit]
- User:Main Page (20 May) - What was actually featured that day? -- 07:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

- Hey lil' tater, it's your 5th birthday, oh yeah, itz yo' b-day. May Uncyclopedia venture off to his parents' bedroom in the middle of the night to find out parents like to play games too. 5 year olds should explore the world around them and lose the age of innocence. Time to make some more lil' taters, it's where vodka comes from. + PotatoSmut 10:45, January 6, 2010 (UTC)
Sortable tables and other improvements[edit]
I'm not finished yet with my italic plan of reorganizing things. We don't need separate listings for date and title, because a table can allow sorting by either field via JavaScript. For this reason I've redirected Uncyclopedia:Best of/2005 (by date) to Uncyclopedia:Best of/2005 and so on. The initial sorting I've chosen is descending chronological order, allowing the construction of a timeline from latest to earliest.
Also, we don't need to repeat the listings on UN:BEST. We can make composite pages with the individual years. Pages don't have to be templates for this to work; to transclude the year 2005, we'd use {{:Uncyclopedia:Best of/2005}}
. The idea is to not maintain two lists where one would suffice.
However, a composite page that grows each year also gets slower each year. For optimal page loading over slow connections, we should keep it relatively short by default. I'm open to feedback about how short. It's inane to keep separate pages for each year but show everything on the master page UN:BEST. We might limit it to the last five years, and just link to the rest. It's a good sign that we've had so many featured articles, of course. Over two thousand of them. - I'm finished. I can change the style if others hate it.
- How it works, if we like it like this, is that UN:BEST is a composite page with every feature from the last four years; the current year's features should be picked up automatically (like it did before). At the end of the year, someone can paste
{{subst:Best of table generator|year=year}}
into Uncyclopedia:Best of/year. (talk) 10:17, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
