- I get the point but the use of these images in a comedy article is a bit grim in my view. Any chance we can think of 'funnier' ideas to illustrate it? Like a Lego version of that main photo for example? --

- Nah, think of the children. (literally?) Yes, literally. The children's right to free speech has to be protected, and the pictures were the purpose and foundation of the story. Now when I read it out loud it makes me laugh, I'll do some more polishing. But those two pics are historical records of a very serious incident in world history. And I swear on me ole mother's bones that I did not know it was exactly the 10th anniversary of when these events were occurring! When I found that out it was like, okay, cool, so not only did the idea work as a concept but it fit the timeline. And the main word which I would hope we include with the word comedy is 'satire', which is almost a whole other creature entirely. The two have to marry when satire is involved, but comedy can stand alone. I think that since Sarah Silverman looks enough like Lindy English (sp?) to play her in a reenactment was another bonus of the pictures. So, anyway, I'd like to keep them because that started out as the whole idea of the article - not to let Wikia censor historically important photographs, but it turned into a pretty good mixing of about a dozen concepts at a rough estimate, and the pictures work into those very well. So my vote would be to keep them. On the other site's talk page Leverage left a photochop of Silverman's face on English's body in yet another picture - a blurry one of the guy being forced to masturbate while Silverman laughs and points at him (on Wikipedia they don't blur it, but use the picture as is. - I know they are on Wikipedia but I find it hard to 'laugh' when I see torture images used here. Having googled my own suggestion, you can use lego versions which are at least a step away from the real experience. Just smacks of ED to me. - I would agree about the image of the man laying on the floor - the pity for the man gets in the way of the humor. At least with the picture of the inmates piled up in awkward positions you cannot see their faces. - Political satire is fine here, I thought. Changing to unreal images would take all the air out of the page. The woman in the reenactments is clearly identified as comedian Sarah Siverman. How about if I call the guy on the bottom a ...no, it can be Joey No-Thumbs who interceded to play the part! That works very well, and I'll change that now.
