You seem to be scoping out a Valentine's Day UnNews that doesn't mention Valentine's Day. Might not be compatible with this basis (and is not in this language), but the Chihuahua Heraldo reports that the value of romantic teddy bears briefly reached $0.00 at one shop in the city, at least for one pilferor. Yup, it's not there yet and if it moves towards a love value piece, then we'll try to steer it back (or change the headline, but would prefer not to). This is an intro really and some ideas, but more of a demonstration of how to mash two stories and the lede may well not end up the lede. I'm interested to see where UncommonMouse would like to take it now.

I saw that story, it certainly would be worth a mention. The valentines idea source is hilarious! "How about a romantic trip to the sewage farm darling?", "No, that's a c**p idea." You can't make it up! Did you see the one on the charity "Goodwill" pushing those to sell their ex. clobber "for the children"? Lovely!

Okay UncommonMouse, so a simple but effective technique is to use the language as a frame, but replace oil with love and adjectives that suggest a lovers tiff. UnNews Editor-in-Chief would like it to make reference more to valentines day, so over to you!  EStop ⚓ 16:12, February 11, 2016 (UTC)

Estop, I've recopied what you wrote (see below), and then tried re-wording it, paragraph by paragraph, to see what sort of ideas that might prompt...Which is not to saying one way is funnier or unfunnier than the other - just a different slightly angle. Tip: Copy and paste another paragraph directly from the news source, then re-write/tweak it as you did my text. Look at the other news sources (which are both bonkers in their own right) and use them for the tweakery. No need to be too creative or off the wall yet, do the nuts and bolts first.
