Anytime you are tempted to explain a joke (thankfully, on the talk page here and not in the page itself!), it's an indication that you need to work harder. If you think this was too cryptic for the casual reader, try "The team rescued every last hostage" and then give the exceptions. (This reminds me of an actual CNN newswoman, trying to make her story relevant or poignant or something by beginning, "Almost exactly one year after the 9/11 disaster" — "almost" here means "not"!)

Instead what I'll complain about: Your fertile mind has keyed off a news headline, and has gone off in an unrelated direction and written a nice little fantasy story. But is it UnNews? Spıke 🎙️03:42 3-Dec-21
