Pee Reviews[edit]

Humour: 6 the joke is there, but I'm not laughing. The thing is ludicrous enough, but a few more straight up jokes (ass opposed to general silliness) would really make this shine.
Concept: 8 The cause and effect relationship between top hats and power is an interesting idea.
Prose and formatting: 9 My only complaint is that you can copy the "indecipherable" text into any text editor and it becomes legible. perhaps the text could be saved as an image...?
Images: 7 Too many. Also, the young lads hat looks very short. Keep the foolish top and the magna-cappa. Pick 1 or 2 of the others and chuck-em
Miscellaneous: 8 Top hats are funny and weird. Since you run with the idea of having magical powers and augmenting them and such, may be some D&D references might apply. like the top hat give +2 to all scores and roles you make. stuff like that.
Final Score: 38 Good idea, just pull it together with some LOL type jokes. just don't break the style.

Humour: 9 Very funny. The sexual undertones really added to the feel of the article. Only thing to make it any better would describe the affects of the foreign hats. That is all I can really think of. Oh, and the whole "Magne Cappa" is little unnecessary, but others might not think so.
Concept: 8.5 Strange concept, but done very well. Who knew that that was why British people were so smart?
Prose and formatting: 9 I think I noticed a few grammatical mistakes, but if it makes it to VFH, someone will scan through and notice them. Nothing major really.
Images: 10 Absolutely perfect picturesque pictures. Top quality, and that. Wot.
Miscellaneous: 8.5 I loved the use of the "Britishisms", but oftentimes they seemed to distract from the actual content. They were good, but beware of overusage.
Final Score: 45 Great article. Really enjoyed reading it. You took a seemingly simple fashion accessory and turned it into something no one ever expected. Good job!

Humour: 7 I giggled, but some of it was just pretty random. Make a theme of the headers: Each one should start with "top hats..." Why? Because it's friendlier to the eyes.
Concept: 8 Me and my top hats thank you. Top Hats is my kitten.
Prose and formatting: 8 nothing wrong with it, except the pictures kinda clog it. You could survive with just those first and the last ones.
Images: 8 Mostly for that photoshop you did in "early history".
Miscellaneous: 7 Yeah, has a little british humouror that I didn't quite get.
Final Score: 38 Oh, you mean VFH? I've been wondering how that works. Uh, yeah, sure go for it.

Humour: 5 The condescending British style does it, but I have to admit that it got just a few smiles. The Magna Cappa did it for me.
Concept: 6 The idea is interesting, I'm not entirely sure about the way you executed it.
Prose and formatting: 9 It's all good.
Images: 8 I especially liked the one with the king and the top hat.
Miscellaneous: 9 Is that really the fourth time you get a pee? :)
Final Score: 37 It's well written, but I have to admit I didn't really laugh reading it. The prose is good, images are fine, concept is interesting, but not big giggles. Perhaps transferring some of the prose in a really snob English gentlemen telling the story and keep reminding the reader that the reader, obviously, isn't wearing any top hap - therefor he cannot expect to understand this kind of humor?

Humour: 9 Very funny. The Magna Cappa bit, esp. with the picture of King John, is solid gold if you ask me.
Concept: 10 Takes something that few people can relate to (nobility) and twists it into eccentricity. Oh, what a brilliant concept you have.
Prose and formatting: 10 Nothing seems to be lacking here, but I think maybe the DYK box is a little unnecessary. It's up to you though.
Images: 10 Lots of pictures, but thankfully they don't clutter or squish the article. Again, that Magna Cappa picture is awesome.
Miscellaneous: 10 Why is the article's title all capitalized? Shouldn't it be "Top hat" rather than "Top Hat"? Just a thought.
Final Score: 49 A joy to read. I'd say, along with all of the others who have reviewed this article, that it is definitely feature worthy. Should it be nominated, it has my vote.
