Talk:There Isn't Any
Yes, comparing Latin society to the canine world is a bit insulting. But tell me this article isn't true. Spıke Ѧ 12:39 1-Jan-10
There Isn't Any |
This article, though plenty funny, should not be searched for "jokes," because There Isn't Any. Moreover, if you think there is a need for grue templates, dancing-fat-boy animations, l33t, references to Emo-Hitler, Motivational Posters, or your trademark "wackey" sense of humor, you're wrong. There Isn't Any. |
I contemplated putting the above into the article, but I like it better dead-pan. Spıke Ѧ 01:10 2-Jan-10
Feedback from Romartus--Isolate Latin America inside Section 1[edit]
Want to read a new article that's funny despite having absolutely no jokes? --There Isn't Any-- Please, no grue templates nor references to Emo-Hitler! Spıke Ѧ 18:22 1-Jan-10
- Thanks. I will have a look. Don't worry - I don't understand Emo jokes anyway and if I was A.Hitler's agent, I would be trying to sue the world for misrepresentation.A couple of days ago a saw photo copyright for one of Leni Riefenstahl film that had the credit NSDAP/Kobal Collection. Evidently no seemed to know that NSDAP were the initials for the Nazi party ! --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 18:59, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, like Che Guevara posters (one of which notoriously graced an Obama campaign office last year), being cool often means declining to inquire as to what the meaning of anything is. You don't wear a swastika in a US public school, but when I was growing up, everyone wore a Maltese Cross. I have no basis to think you would add Emo-Hitler; only new awareness of the difference in senses of humor, and a recent experience matchmaking a "wackey" new editor with the orphaned article Climate change--to get him the hell away from editing Global warming. - Ok I have now read. The first thing that strikes me is the Latin American references really don't fit in the article as it currently stand. I think setting out what the There Isn't Any theme is about first and then perhaps illustrating by example (in Latin America or Europe etc) may be a better structure. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 20:37, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
I see "There Isn't Any" as distinctively Latin American, and hence the relevance of the article. However, if you think it would be an improvement to make the intro country-generic and only reference Latin America afterward, I see a way to do that. Spıke Ѧ 20:49 1-Jan-10 References now confined to Sec. 1; thanks for the improvement. Spıke Ѧ 22:03 1-Jan-10
