Impetus[edit]
Not the point of the article, but the impetus for writing it, was a column by Streiff at RedState.com, which mentioned Pournelle in passing. I wanted a way to remember Pournelle's law, wrote an Uncyclopedia article around it, and then consulted Wikipedia for more "Iron Laws."
However, the former final paragraph that mentioned Streiff without naming him not only didn't relate to the paragraph before it, but wasn't funny enough except to us Joe Biden detractors. The article ends better without it. It isn't original humor but a description of Biden's natural and unintentional humor.
- During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States intelligence [sic] community volunteered that it had given Ukraine information on the whereabouts of certain Russian generals who later turned up dead. This was while President Joe Biden was showing baffling agnosticism about what outcome he favored in Ukraine. A columnist cited the Iron Law to assert that the U.S. spies were boosting their bureaucracy by endangering America's careful fence-straddling. However, Biden perfectly squared the circle by admitting that the U.S. disclosed the locations of the generals who were killed, but not for the purpose of getting them killed.
