Large portions of this are lifted directly from the book San Sombrero. Possibly up to 50%. --Nikau (talk) 04:28, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
- The population of San Sombrèro is said to be 8.6 million although this figure is approximate, as no thorough formalcensus has ever been conducted. To gauge family sizes, officials will often just count the number of peoplelounging in a doorway – and multiply by 11.
Sounding familiar? --Nikau (talk) 04:28, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
- We could 'de-feature' this article on the grounds that it was lifted work. --RomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 10:43, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
- "Possibly up to 50%" means "Possibly down to 0%". Check the change history; I rewrote this article extensively, including the entire History section with the discussion of Jonestown. As usual, I didn't get rid of all the old stuff (there is stuff from Moneke left in Law and politics and a little in the following sections); I can go back in and do so if desired. I liked what Leverage and I did with Sport, but the final joke concerning sportsman Pedro Murda might be plagiarized, as Wikipedia suggests that he does not exist. Spıke Ѧ 12:39,13:21 24-Nov-14
Ok, here are the similar sections:
- Uncyc: - Guyana's most recent census reports that, officially, about 75% of its population are Latino, 14% are black, and 23% are mulattoes of mixed ethnicity. The remainder are CIA operatives. (The above figures reflect round-off error.) The fascinating mix of volatile races nevertheless coexists smoothly, extorting and stealing from one another with no distinction for skin color.
- San: - San Sombrèro's most recent census reports that, officially, about 55% of its population is white, mainly of Spanish origin. About 14% is black and 23% mulattoes of mixed ethnicity. The remainder are CIA operatives. Over the centuries each of these groups have intermingled producing a fascinating – if sometimes volatile – national identity. Remarkably, there is very little in the way of racial tension in San Sombrèro, with blacks, whites and those of mixed race all happily living, working and stealing from each other.
- Uncyc: - Guyana has a magical feel, not unlike a good acid trip, due to its tropical charms, exotic lifestyle, and lack of extradition treaties to anywhere else.
- San: - Each year more and more visitors are discovering the magic of San Sombrèro, lured by its tropical charms, exotic lifestyle and lack of extradition treaties with the outside world.
- Uncyc: - Government’s support for physical activity began in 1954 when it sought to phase out cigar smoking during school hours. Since then, a range of state-sponsored health and fitness programmes (such as steroid distribution) have ensured Guyana's success on the world sporting stage. Strong, talented students are often singled out for special training and most cities boast a centro deportivo (Sports Centre) with soccer field, gymnasium, and drug laboratory.
- San: - The San Sombrèran Government’s encouragement of physical activity began in 1954 when they moved to phase out cigar smoking during school hours. Since then a range of state-sponsored health and fitness programmes have ensured San Sombrèro’s success on the world sporting stage. Strong, talented students are often singled out for special training and most cities boast a Centro Deportivo (Sports Centre) with tennis courts, gymnasium, pool and pharmaceutical laboratories.
The flag is also similar. Here's a preview if anyone wants to check that. --Nikau (talk) 13:52, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, Nikau; after waiting for further feedback, I'm eager to replace the vestigial sections with something better. Can you do something good with the flag? Spıke Ѧ 14:16 24-Nov-14
- Correction: The flag, though provided by the original author, is specific to Guyana and wouldn't be plagiarized from a work on a generic Latin American country. Spıke Ѧ 15:34 24-Nov-14
