I think the Czech flag is no longer funny, but vulgar. Anyone agrees on this?

Yes, I also find it vulgar. It shocks, but it is not very funny, because Czechs were not actively collaborating with Nazis. I liked the "Check flag", because Pakistan actually made the mistake and used the racing flag to welcome Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek during his state visit. [1] I suppose the relationship between Czechs and Germans has a great potential for comedy, though. Germans always naturally tried to bully and dominate Czechs and Czechs have developed a small nation complex, which has led them to believe that they are the greatest nation in the world. It is funny because Czechs are actually are quite all right - they were always an island of stability and economic wealth within the Holy Roman Empire and the Austrian Empire and ruled half of Europe several times. And the removal of Germans from Sudetenland is something what I would call a very black humour. Another humorous moment is how Britons failed to honour agreements and protect the country against German invasion following Munich. Czechs failed to defend the country, which was controversial, because they actually stood a good chance to win. They even turned down Russian help which would make the German invasion completely unfeasible, because they feared Russians more than Nazis! Britons paid dearly, because only the Pilsen works in the Czech Republic produced more weapons then the entire UK weapons industry and a few years later, the fate of the British Isles was hanging by a thread.

Yes, I find it vulgar, and superb. I admit it is not tremendously funny, but it is amusing nevertheless. People objecting to it are much funnier. --Discombobulator 12:25, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

I live in Czech Republic and I know our history very well. Who created this article about our country had to have big problems in school and subjects as are history and geography were probably boring for him/her. Because if this student knew at least the minimum he/she would never write such nonsences about Czech Republic. Please do not believe a think from this scifi. Hopfully you will find reality in www.czechrepublic.com. I wonder who can be so stupid to write such things .... No more comment

Magdalena, I also live in the czeck republik (la Rebuplika Čzeho) and I must agree that everything written in this article is 100% true. I used to walk to school, I sucked beer instead of milk, I remember the terrible war, the dying, the craters, and the refugies. Actually I think you´re a Slovak and should be crucified! Milosević.

Czech names don't end -ski

Hello, -ski is a typical Polish end of last name. Some Czech names (but just the minority, names from adjectives) ends -ský (-sky without the interpuntion). Of course, names of American Czechs are sometimes changed, but these people are usually American Poles. --Zik 17:15, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

This is false about ski on end of this names, I know some peoples from Chekoslokya one is named Nguyen Trang Ming(where is ski?)second is Fero Horvath ath is't ski or sky.

Of course, you are right, I am Zylbrsztajn and my name ends neither ski nor sky. Seriously now: Czech surnames may end -sky or-ska (female form) but only very few people have surnames endinf -ski. Most of them are of Polish origin. --Zylbrsztajn 10:41, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

-ski, -ský, -sky, or -ский are just variant spellings of the same suffix. They are pronounced exactly the same. In all Slavic languages it means "of or relating to" (the same as 's in English). 1.55.115.177 05:54, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
