Talk:Calvin and Hobbes
How about making Calvin and Hobbes philosophers.
Or perhaps Calvin and Hobbes could be some kind of horrible disease...
- Okay, the article was tagged for a total rewrite which recommended to blow it up and start it all over from the beginning. So I did that. If people who worked on the previous version that was tagged for rewrite have a problem, then, uhm... well, I guess somehow it will get solved or something. That's what those groovy Administrators are around for, right? I'm not saying this is a masterpiece of anything. It sure could use the input of others. However, it has to be better than that V for Vendetta thing, right? Oh, and hopefully it won't get one of those facts detected tags. I think it fits under the category where the facts are blended with fiction enough. --Nakedman 01:26, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
may I be the first to say, genius! and certainly a squllion times improvement on old content. Like I always say - you should always check your facts before writing nonsense. Morwen 01:28, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- My good Nakedman, you've done Calvin and Hobbes proud. Fantastic. —rc (t) 01:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I wasn't expecting a VFH or anything, but I'll take it. --Nakedman 15:36, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Actually, this article does need something[edit]
and that something is a full example strip of Calvin and Hobbes! Morwen 00:09, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I'll do it as soon as I come up with good text and stuff, and I'm also open to suggestions. (I'm also open to people doing it instead of me but let me know.) --Monika 00:17, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Ideas came faster than expected. Gimme a sec to shop this up. --Monika 00:26, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Enjoy --Monika 01:07, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Splendid! Morwen 01:31, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm now trying very hard to resist the urge to put some toilet humour here. Possibly one for a rewrite of Martin Luther. Morwen 01:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Mmmm. Me likey the additions. --Nakedman 02:26, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Haha! §ǚρωξλ£μĦΦφ≈€ƏξßÐÆØΞ's image just uploaded is brilliant. --Monika 05:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I had originally scanned it for my myspace a long time ago (because calvin and hobbes is one of my favorite comics and I'm an atheist) and thought it would be funny here. Question: should the full strip be entirely in black and white? It is, of course, a weekday strip. --§ǚρωξλ£μĦΦφ≈€ƏξßÐÆØΞ 05:56, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- I was thinking that, and I was also thinking actually doing the entire strip in proper Bill Watterson style, but the look of the heads just stuck on the characters without regard to stylistic concerns seemed to be part of the overarching joke for the article. --Monika 06:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

- If you wanted to do that we could explain it away as being 'early, ill-defined versions of the characters', or whatever. Morwen 11:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm currently working on another full strip, and I must ask: what font was used for the first strip? --§ǚρωξλ£μĦΦφ≈€ƏξßÐÆØΞ 04:04, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- "Dan's Hand" with capslock on. It was the closest thing I had to Bill's lettering sitting on my computer. --Monika 04:18, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was stupid enough to forget to put caps lock on, but it came out okay: Image:Calvin again.PNG. We should probably create a bio for each C&H character as a philosopher/monarch/whatever from that time period. So far all I've established is Mrs. Wormwood = Pope Urban VII, who I believe was the pope in John Calvin's lifetime. --§ǚρωξλ£μĦΦφ≈€ƏξßÐÆØΞ 04:27, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks to all who helped[edit]
Well, on June 16 it was sitting there, sad and with a rewrite tag on it. Then by June 23 it was a Featured Article. That's quite a 7-day turnaround. Thanks to Rc for the VFH nomination, and thanks to Monika, Hardwick, and that guy with the totally untypable name, and to the anon IP peoples who did some editing. Hrm, maybe I should, like, fix more rewrite tagged articles or something then. --Nakedman 03:32, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- ::thumbs up:: --monika 03:34, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. I haven't been as entertained by an article in a long, long time. —rc (t) 03:35, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
I love it! I think this is absolutely Hilarious!!!

Not Armenians[edit]
I know you morons are trying to help, but as you are morons (hence why I called you morons), STOP changing Arminians to Armenians. See the Wikipedia article Arminianism if you want to know why. It has nothing to do with Armenians and everything to do with Jacobus Arminius, mentioned just a little further below. Me writey this featured artcile. Me spend too much time and money getting liberal arts degree. Me know. --Nakedman 03:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- This is absolutely brilliant. --Nikau 12:24, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Not just "notable" episodes. ALL of them![edit]
There, I said it. C'mon, you can try!
