Suspense
“John Dies At The End”
- ~ Kate Winslet on the plot twist in Titanic
London, 1888. The dull glow of an old street lamp lights the narrow, cobbled walkway. A gray fog seeps from the cracks in the stones. Suddenly, a shadow.
Suspense.
Farther up, you notice a sharp implement. A cloak. A top hat. The shadow glides swiftly over the cobblestones, nary a sound. A lone rat scurries from its home in a dilapidated, old building.
Suspense.
The figure silently stalks the streets. One, brutal ambition: MURDER...
Suspense.
Suddenly, a young woman appears. The figure darts into away from the light.
Suspense.
The woman walks, her footsteps echoing against the cobbles.
Suspense.
The figure stalks her from behind...
Suspense.
A hand is raised, poised.
Suspense.
In one, perfect movement, a knife penetrates a neck. A chilling shriek pierces the silence of the night. This was just the beginning. The gears had been set into motion. The first chapter in this diary of death has begun.
